Steaks

How Long will you wait for ~~ true love ~~ ?For me, it’s 45 minutes for the 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙛 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙤𝙣 (~$80). And he’s absolutely worth the wait.

A huge cut of tender, red and juicy medium rare steak was wrapped once with mushroom duxelles, then again with a flakey puff pastry. The contrast and seemingly complex marriage of all three components turned out absolutely stunning. Salty, buttery and creamy, take my $80.🥧🥩

Even the vegetable sides of glazed carrots were darn good. Don’t overlook them 🥕

𝙍𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙠 (~$22) paired with herbed butter, was decently done at this price point.

[Mains] The star for me was the 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙗 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙛, although it was a lighter cut at 160g, I was pretty filled by the sides of creamed spinach and mashed potato. Sure, the sides were definitely nothing to shout about, but the soft tender beef sOAKING in beef jus was what kept me going 🥩

Was rather surprised by the generous portion of the 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙠(~$25.50): it was tougher than I would have liked it to be, but I’m not complaining bc you can REALLY see how thicccc the slices are 🥩

And the smoky 𝙒𝙖𝙜𝙮𝙪 𝙏𝙧𝙞 𝙏𝙞𝙥 was paired SO WELL with the sweeter Eryngii mushrooms, though my beef was quite chewy and tbh my jaw kinda hurt from the chewing 🥩

Ribeye Steak (~$58): was a thick and large cut — lean and tender. It could be seasoned a little more, but nothing too much of an issue 🌿

Feather blade steak (~$21) was not too chewy or tough even though I got it in medium well! Price point was pretty good for this steak. Although the steak was a lil salty for my liking. Red wine sauce (~$2) was enough for two. Mash potatoes (~$7) were honestly slightly pricey for... potatos but they were veryyyy creamy and portion was enough to share

Steak and Frites : Butcher’s selection honestly wasn’t that great — definitely on the smaller side and a tad too chewy. Double fried shoestring fries were addictive though 😛
