The fanciful colours had me thinking they were flavoured for a moment, but its actually just to make them look attractive haha๐Ÿ˜น

A little pricey for just plain mantou, but they were also larger than your average ones, being around 2x in size? Perhaps because i'm a total carbs person, but having these mantous plain is still good for me๐Ÿ˜Š Heated these up for breakfast and I loved the warm fluffiness of the bun which has a dense mouthfeel.

They do have many other interesting offerings, from healthier fillings such as sweet potato, to more decadent ones such as durian (!!), chocolate and also savouries such as curry potato chicken!

Tried the Matcha Custard Obanyaki ($2.90) this time as it was sold out when I visited previously. So glad I did๐Ÿ˜‹ The matcha custard was smooth and did not let me down with its distinct bittersweet matcha earthiness. So damn good ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹ Definitely my top pick, with the limited edition double chocolate one being next in line. Had this da-baoed back home and the obanyaki was still moist and fluffyโœจ

The highlight in this obanyaki would be the soft warabimochi, which carries a subtle matcha fragrance and sweetness with a rather melt-in-your mouth texture. I also definitely had fun boomerang-ing that mochi pull while getting judged by others; just things i do for the gram ๐Ÿ˜น

Perhaps because i'm not a fan of redbean, so i didn't really fancy the flavours in this, with the generous amount of azuki which came with kernels of beans still intact and the not red bean paste. Some may be pleased to know that they didn't seemed to be sweetened, so this obanyaki would be suitable if you're looking for something thats lower on the sugar level

Despite its green aesthetics, the matcha dough didn't carry much of a matcha fragrance. I did like how it was moist and fluffy with a slight chew to it. It was surprisingly not as dense as i thought it would be!

Available for a limited time only (though they did not say until when), I really liked the double chocolate obanyaki๐Ÿ˜‹

Comes with substantial fillings of chocolate custard and french premium dark chocolate. The dark chocolate had a gooey and thick texture, contrasting well with the lighter and smooth chocolate custard, a heavenly combination which proved to be just the right level of sweetness.

They currently only accept cash payment, so do ensure that you bring enough cash along with you! (And your patience too, as the queue can get a little daunting)๐Ÿ˜น

The bread for this was not as soft and fluffy as compared to some of their other breads, requiring a tougher chew/bite closer to that of sourdoughs. Not sure if the bread itself was supposed to be black sesame infused because i couldn't really taste it, but the fillings more than made up for it and provided the much loved black sesame fragrance ๐Ÿ˜

The texture of the black sesame fillings was kind of sandy, and the fillings are a tad sweet. I still love the bread and will definitely repurchase, but would prefer a lower sweetness level with smoother and thicker textures for the filling๐Ÿ˜Š

There was a generous portion of sweet potato that seemed to be unsweetened, save for the natural slight sweetness of the sweet potato.

The sweet potato fillings were a combination of smooth, creamy mash with little cubes of sweet potato within which provided a slight change in texture.

The bread was super soft and fluffy! I always ask them to slice my bread because they are generally all so huge and it seems like too much of an indulgence, but this was so addictive i finished the whole big loaf at one go๐Ÿ˜…

It weighs ~1kg and if you need a further gauge, it was further portioned by the staff into 12 large pieces upon purchase.

The bread can be kept for up to 3 days though of course it tastes best when just freshly baked and still warm, with the exterior crust being crisp and the dough being soft and moist, yet having a nice chew ๐Ÿ˜‹ Definitely leans towards the denser side and each portioned piece comes with a generous amount of ingredients such as walnuts, and dried lychee/rose petal (?) bits so it serves as a rather hearty and wholesome breakfast~๐Ÿ˜Š

Nothing too intense on the matcha scale, but i really love the light, green tea fragrance in this huge loaf of bread thats filled with such a generous amount of matcha custard filling. The bread isn't too sweet too and its so soft and chewy. $4.50 for bread may sound expensive, but it really isn't, considering the size and quality of it ๐Ÿ™‚

I admit that I was kind of skeptical because i've never thought of jollibean as a waffle place... but i surprisingly quite liked this!! The waffle was soft yet chewy in an appropriate way. Its on the denser side and quite filling! Its quite big too. It also definitely leans on the sweeter side, and there was like the texture of the sugar crystals in certain mouthfuls, which gave the waffle a slight crunch.

I think this is good as a casual snack without too much expectations! But i'd still stick to their good old pancakes anytime though๐Ÿ˜Š

Got this super long ago as part of breadtalk's oishii japan range but forgot to post it ๐Ÿ˜…

Same problem as most of the other breadtalk offerings i guess, with the filling being quite miserly๐Ÿ˜… Surprisingly, i liked the bread more than i thought i would, because i usually detest corn-flavoured stuff as they more often than not taste super artificial. However, there wasn't such a problem with this option ๐Ÿ˜Š

I also liked the textures in this bread. The green part was more crusty and crisp, and was slightly sweeter. It really did wonders in terms of cutting through the otherwise monotonous soft texture.

However, my reluctance to part with my $$$ is at least alleviated by the generous amount rich, luscious durian filling. Its not just all cream, but actual durian puree with real durian flesh ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜‹ #burpple #burpplesg #croissant #sugarthieves #durian #duriandessert #maoshanwang #durianpuree #whati8todaysg #whati8today #sgeats #eatmoresg #instafood_sg #singaporefoodlisting #sgfoodblogger #sgfoodies #sgfood #sgfoodhunt #sgfoodhunter #sgfoodtrend #myfooddiary #sgfooddiary #sgcafe #sgcafefood #sgcafehopping #foodforfoodie #foodforfoodies #foodexplorer #singaporeeats #hungryalreadyeats

The robustness of the roasted tea fragrance was just heavenly๐Ÿ˜‹
