In case you haven't heard: this charming dessert shop tucked in Happy Mansion is showcasing three special desserts, one of which is the cake that took home the coveted World Pastry Cup by four Malaysian pastry chefs. Find the award-winning La Nature (RM22) that Burppler Serena Ho says is an extremely well-balanced dessert with a chocolate base and three types of honey. Also available are other delicate cakes crafted by the in-house dessert team like the refreshing Pear Vanilla (RM17) and the fragrant La Vie En Rose (RM16).

Swing by Damansara Uptown for ice cream cakes with your gal pals. Perfect for that Instaworthy shot is the rose-shaped Beauty and The Beast (RM25) that sees a Morello Cherry core and thick 63% dark chocolate shell. Another standout is the Longevity (RM25) that's shaped like a Chinese peach and served in a dim sum basket. It is made with layers of matcha and black sesame ice cream with mango yuzu compote, lemon curd, matcha sponge cake and white chocolate. Otherwise, go light and opt for their housemade ice creams – we hear the Miso Caramel and Pandan Kaya Toast (from RM10.90 a scoop) are to die for!

Shaped to look like real fruits, these delicate desserts in Namelaka contain bits of the actual fruit within! Order the Passionfruit (RM23) for a punchy sour-yet-sweet dessert, or the Green Apple (RM19), which Burppler Calie Tang declares as her favourite. Not shaped like a fruit, but also yummy is the Yuzu (RM23), which Burppler Rachel Yong says is perfect for those who don't have much of a sweet tooth – expect hints of sourness! The creative team also make more traditional desserts like pancakes and burnt cheesecake.

Bookmark this bakery tucked away in SS17 for wholesome baked goods to bring home, such as buttery chocolate chip cookies and savoury quiches! A must-have is the fudgy Seasalt Brownie (RM10) topped with a sprinkle of sea salt. Burppler Joey Tee recommends the to-die-for Matcha Tart (RM10) featuring a rich filling and dusted with powdered matcha. Don't miss out on Good Ground Bakery's Plain Croissants (RM6) and Almond Croissants (RM8) that are bound to satisfy!

In a hidden corner of Plaza Damas sits Rubberduck, a cafe worth tracking down for great bakes and breakfasts. The alfresco area is spotlighted by a pink neon sign and a coconut tree on the wall that provides pop-meets-tropical vibes as you people-watch — perfect for a restorative day of alone time. There is healthy breakfast — smoothie bowls and granolas — for the early risers and yummy sweet treats for teatime. Freshly baked daily, their Madeleines (RM3) may be one of KL's best attempts at the French tea cake. Have these petite, buttery pillows with a cup of tea or coffee. The luscious-looking Carrot Cake (RM9) and Beetroot Chocolate Cake (RM10) are moist, tasty and great contenders too. Although we are devoted fans, the cakes are second to their real crowd-favourite, the Lemon Meringue Tart (RM12). Take time to savour the sweet, airy meringue and zesty lemon curd in its crumbly tart shell.
Avg price per person: RM20

Not your regular dessert experience, more than 10 different elements to create this piece of dessert art.
Tips
1. Best share with group of 3-4
2. Make reservation a day ahead
Not your typical sweet treats here as the desserts fall a little more on the savoury side, just like this one. Sour and tangy passionfruit custard hides underneath the sweet, light and umami miso cream (I think it’s in the brown bits). The tart itself is excellent – firm, buttery and crunchy, I could eat that on its own.
Miru had opened for quite some time but still the hype is there, especially when they opened their second outlet at Pavilion. Was thought the outlet at Damansara Uptown will be less crowded but apparently the shop is still full of crowd, especially after dinner time. Food in frame: Shibuya Honey Toast (RM16), an original Shibuya Honey Toast topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Plus it is coated with a thin layer of butter sugar on top, which actually enhance the flavor of the toast. I don't think there is any negative comment on the dessert since it is really delicious. However, regarding with the portion wise, it is better to share at least two people for a toast. And also they serve the free flow of jasmine tea for every customers. It would be good if the table is not that sticky.
All the way from Singapore, but a sit down rather than takeaway, is fluff!

Cakes and ambience was beautiful.

Only gripe is I see the green but the Pandan flavour doesn’t shine through. Rest of the elements were there, like Gula Melaka and coconut. Cake was soft and fluffy. Nevertheless, a great place to hang out w your girlfriends or lover. ☕️
We saw soufflé on the menu and immediately thought of Wild Sheep Chase – it’s by the same team! I’m going to call favourites and say this is the best soufflé. Suuuuper soft and fluffy and rich with earl grey flavour, so you barely taste any egg. You can have it with a side of their homemade ice cream, and the chrysanthemum is just perfect.
This place churns our the most amazing soufflés and we were quite happy to score a seat last night after dinner. I had mine with salted caramel syrup and honeydew calamansi granita. The soufflé here is incredibly light and not overly sweet.
You’ll find super creamy ice creams here with more than 200 flavours to expect! They’re quite popular for the alcoholic flavours and the Rum & Raisins is a sweet one that packs a hard rum punch. Avo fans shouldn’t miss out on this flavour – there are small chunks of the fruit in the thick and smooth ice cream.
