Tiong Bahru Market
Best char kway teow I've had at stall 02-11. Deep rich flavour and not too greasy.
This stall started at beginning of the year and now there's a steady stream of ppl queuing. Very well cooked noodles by the younger man and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Heard the meatballs are good so will try next time. Yummy yum yum. Posted by Ah Leong San 2016 September 1.

The usual fried carrot cake you have comes stir fried with either sweet black sauce or plain, with eggs & caipoh. But this version here is an oily, deep fried, crunchy pack of carrot cake sticks which is simple yet addictive.
It's tough to find stores selling this version of carrot cake these days as it isn't as popular as the usual one. As long as this store continues to sell it, I know I can always come back for more.
Waking up to this cool and cloudy weather, I only craved for a warm bowl of porridge. The duck porridge is available at $3/ $4/ $5. Just go large and you won't regret paying just $5 for lots of duck meat hidden in this bowl of smooth porridge with thick and savory duck zup (gravy). š
Seem like whenever we head to hawker, I will end up ordering one plate. But it's great to introduce savoury fried carrot cake to oversea friends seeing how different it is from those dessert carrot cake. We had Lau Chen Carrot Cake & Poh Piah the other day, their carrot cake was more nuah and we wish it has more wok hei to it.
Shui Kueh - The firm and moist kueh is topped with fragrant chye poh.

This is the famous Jian Bo Chwee Kueh.
Many Singaporeans would agree that Jian Bo (used to) offer one of the best chwee kueh around, a simple dish of smooth and soft steamed rice cake topped with oily preserved radish.
I grew up having this, and can't help but feel that quality has dipped over the years. Oh well. Treasure while it lasts! #DFDHawker #DFDSingapore
My favourite Bak Chor Mee ččé¢ ($3) - from the Tiong Bahru Bak Chor Mee stall #02-77!!
Vinegar game strong & chilli with the right amount of heat for me. Very generous with ingredients (so many slices of pork). But the real star of the show are the MEATBALLS (+$1 for a pair). They have a very yummy pork broth inside which explodes with flavours when you bite into it.
