Sliced fish noodle soup ($5/7/9)
Came by with a friend who's been here and has had almost everything on their menu. You'd might be surprised that instead of the usual sweet Japanese brown curry that we're all familiar with, Tengawa serves up a savoury white version! They have 5 items on the menu currently - Premium Ebi Fry, Juicy Hamburg, Crunchy Chicken Katsu, White Curry Seafood Udon and Iberiko Katsu, with another dish (Mayo Salmon Katsu) launching soon. Thought it was quite pricey at first but every set comes with their Tengawa Special Chawanmushi (had a very smooth texture with hints of truffle), plus FREE FLOW clear clam soup, pickled vegetables and rice!
The white curry has its color due to the addition of Hokkaido milk. Wasn't really a fan at first but I've got to say it grew on me! It's more creamy, not as sweet and slightly peppery with hints of the cheesy sort of flavour, with its consistency like a thick stew. The chicken katsu wasn't the most juicy (gimme some fats please) but still fried relatively well and tender. I really liked that they serve clam soup (I would have had more bowls if I wasn't so full) instead of the usual miso, and thumbs up to the prompt service!

Just found this place that serves good steaks at great prices, and it's certified halal.
🔸
According to Joy the owner, this steak was only lightly dabbed with salt before grilling, and I think it was the skills of the chef that made this steak good - the exterior was nicely charred while retaining a juicy red centre. Even though they don't use fanciful aged meats, I actually enjoyed the steaks here more than some of the other fine dining steakhouses in Singapore, and at only one-third the price.

Diners can now enjoy both soup and curry dishes in the same bowl at the first Japanese soup curry specialty here in Singapore! Located in the new OUE Downtown skyscraper complex, featured here are the Ocean Trophy (Tomato soup base), Hungry Bear (Wafu), Oink Oink (Coconut), and Cheesy Bear (Coconut).
The spice level is customisable in 3 categories – Baby Bear (Levels 0-5), Adult Bear (8-15), and Crazy Bear (18-30). I went for Level 15 and managed to finish my Ocean Trophy without sipping any of the iced green tea. We were also given 4 flavours of the soup curry to choose from – Coconut, Tomato, Wafu, and Shrimp. Go for the first 2 with stronger flavours which we really enjoyed!

The Hokkaido Cereal Wave may be gone, but I am glad that it had made way for a whole new "Sweets" menu where they serve up soft-serve at just $5.90 (the Hokkaido Cereal Wave was double the price, though with more toppings).
I am a big fan of The Milky Way, so this was a clear winner for me from the first spoonful — it's really all that I had expected; that stellar white cold brew in soft-serve form that is creamy and smooth and everything to die for if you love their cold brew. The shortbread crumbles adds a saltish flavour and a crunch to the dessert, giving the entire soft serve a little more complexity in terms of flavour and texture. Something I foresee myself going for again another day!
