Kaum Jakarta was the third Kaum outlet opened by Potato Head. The first was in Hong Kong, followed by the second outlet in Bali.

Unusual to bring the concept to Hong Kong first before launching it in Indonesia. Loved the modern vibes. The food was good too. Sufficiently spicy and tasty. We had:-

Sate udang kupas pantai mawi, from Lombok (peeled prawn satay)

Ikan bakar sambal dabu dabu, from North Sulawesi (grilled barramundi fillet)
*
Ayam kampung berantakan sambal terasi, inspiration from Aceh (pan fried free range chicken)
*
Terong sambal udang, from West Sulawesi (deep fried eggplants served with shrimps)

It is not spicy on its own but meant to be eaten with a spicy peanut dip. Yummy 😋.

Bika ambon (tapioca based cake), spiku or lapis Surabaya (Surabaya layered cake), kue lapis (traditional layered cake) and otak otak (fish cake).

The bika ambon and otak otak were superb. Different from the Malaysian ones but equally as yummy!

However I find the traditional kue lapis from Indonesia too rich and heavy. I prefer it less sweet and lighter.

Loved the food here, especially the tahu goreng (fried tofu), kacang kecipir (winged beans), nasi campur (mixed rice) and sop buntut (oxtail soup). Hang on, that is almost everything we had 😂, except the dessert which I found too sweet.

The oxtail was served separately from the soup. The oxtail was tender yet firm. Both the oxtail and the soup was tasty and full of flavour. Very delicious!
