The Kobe, Wagyu craze really annoyed me. Most of the practitioners had no real understanding of the product and were abusing it and exploiting it in terrible and ridiculous ways. Kobe beef should not be used in a hamburger. It's completely pointless. It's like fuelling Diesel on a Ferrari, why on earth does one wants to even attempt to do that. No just fuck no. .

Regular beef, if handled with care and executed well is good enough, outstanding even, considering the affordability of it. Hence this beef bowl ticks all the right boxes in terms of taste, price and satisfaction. But it’s their Pork Ribs and Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Belly with rice) is what I find myself coming back for.

A bowl of rice (I implore you to top up just S$0.50 to change your usual boring rice to their Shiny Rice - it’s drizzled with lard and garlic oil, a sinful once in awhile indulgence) topped with a mountain of crispy fried chicken that’s both flavourful and generous, with a side of perfectly sous-vide egg and pickles. .

ACAMASEATS & GTK💮: With @bjornshen back at the kitchen with the new revamped menu, things can only get more delicious at the already dope @artichokes . All of the Mezze dish are truly outstanding, especially the babaganoush with the different textures and flavours complimenting each other so bloody well. .

The rich and creamy spinach was balanced beautifully with the sweet yet tangy plum. They also serve one of the most badass hummus in town. Order a side of Turkish Bread (💵S$4.50) to dip in all their Mezze which I encourage you to get and firstly cos every each of them is dope, secondly the shared plates might take awhile to arrive.

Generous amount of tender sliced beef ribeye was served along with a thick cut rice noodles.
The price is nett means it doesn’t include either GST or Service Charge and for the price you pay, considering that it’s situated in town, it’s one of the better pho you can have. 🤤

Generally if you taste this bowl of pho from any other major chains, you’d dismiss it as just another bowl of ordinary pho. However once you learn what goes in it and the people behind it, the bowl suddenly taste much better.

When this dish arrives with an entire slice of sourdough drenched in the soup, all manners of outrageousness was flooding in my mind. Interestingly, I actually do have a fondness towards this dish and it changed my perspective of soggy soaked bread. 🍞

Slightly sticky notes from the Collagen together with the texture of the soaked Sourdough goes freakishly well together even though how wrong it might sound. Surprisingly the Toasted sourdough still has a bite at the edges and it soaks up the soup well. Chicken veloute with generous amount of calms that’s deeply satisfying for the soul. 🔖

Which invokes an Autumn Christmasy feel and the play with the textures of mushrooms are pretty brilliant. An umami bomb by itself, flavourful, mushy, creamy but the rice was not plump and al dente enough. 🏵

Mushrooms Textures; Shimeji mushrooms was cooked with the aged carnaroli rice, topped with dehydrated enoki and shiitake mushrooms was shaved generously that provides a deep earthy flavour. Creative, innovative and generally a decent dish but not that spectacular. 🔖

However it’s not the case here, gnocchi was done how an Italian Grandma would. Butternut curry comes with a subtle fiery kick that wakes the palate up. Can’t go wrong with the classic pairing of salmon and roe. 🤤

Brine made everything in-house, yet the prices aren’t too nose bleeding-ly scary. Pocket friendly prices for restaurant quality dishes. Overall a place that I’d patron again especially knowing how much attention and detail the owner-Chef puts into every dish. 🔖

ACAMASEATS & GTK💮: The Burrata tasted literally like Butter, it’s so darn sinfully delicious. Classic sourdough which is good on its own, better with the Burrata & exquisite when topped with the Burnt Garlic Powder & Olive Oil. This is one dish I can finish it myself, order another one for Pete’s sake & Life is pretty much complete. 🤤

By far one of the best brunch I had this year. To be honest, I’d rather dine here any day of the week rather than some “cafes that ripped people’s money off with some mediocre brunch like eggs Benedict & sh*t ass coffee”
This is paired with a plate of Smoked Salmon, brunch just can’t get better than this. Even @alhsx agrees, I hope. 🔖
