The BLT. Bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. I added on my favourite candied bacon for extra taste. Combination of pork bockwurst, toasted buns, extra lettuce, and candied bacon.
The BLT already comes with bacon bits and topped off with sown curry mayonnaise. The curry mayo was a little odd for my taste. And this topping wasn't as delicious as the previous ones I had. Not a personal favourite nor a recommendation. Try the more adventurous ones. They're much tastier.
Since this was a revisit for me. The toasted buns and sausage definitely did not change. The chilly fries (not pictured) was a little sweet that night though!
Good: 6/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 15.50 + RM 3, Had set meal 2 of chilly fries and bottomless soda, add on RM 10. Total = RM28.50)
Next I was up for spicy.
Toasted buns, pork bockwurst. Grilled pineapple and bacon bits all under honey mustard and hot sauce.
I was a little skeptical for this one because I do not like spicy but I will always give spicy food a chance. Also it did not really look very appetising.
There was a burst of spicyness from hot sauce, sweet and tangy from honey mustard and crispy tart flavours from bacon bits and pineapple.
You will be spoiled with bacons and generous pork sausages at Streaky Hot Dogs! Beware!
Toasted buns were much nicer than steamed buns for all the sausage combination I had, in my opinion, because they were toasted with butter for better taste and fragrant.
Food: 6/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 16.50 - one of the higher priced ones. Bacon and pineapples are expensive I think? 😂)
Chilli cheese fries, of beef chilli, melted cheese and crisps potato fries. Definitely bad for your waistline but delicious for your tastebuds and happiness. Because fatty cheat meals once in a while makes you sane. 😂 It was a bit too oily at the bottom of the fries possibly due to deep frying and the oil from the chilly. The heat and moisture from the beef chilly also made the fries less crispy, half basket in. But I love the combination and the cheesy goodness. Who hates cheese am I right?! Sorry friends who can't eat beef. They only have beef chilli and you will just have to settle for the plain fries which are still delicious and maybe more crispy! There's also chilli fries, no cheese.
I think it would be better if it was homemade fries from pure stripped potatoes.
They're still very new, so lots of room for improvements. Lookout for their new menu because the managers told me about a few drool-worthy future menu plans! But in the mean time, get to Sri Petaling no for some amazing hot dogs and try their new experimental menu. Feedbacks are most welcomed.
Food: 7/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 10 for a generous amount of chilli cheese fries in a basket! They also have sets with bottomless soda and different fries of choice, all at different rates.)
Buns (toasted, steamed, tortilla) and sausage of choice (bratwurst, bockwurst chicken, pork) with crushed nuts and chocolate sauce.
The actual dessert on the menu is usually banana sandwiched in between the buns with the chocolate and nuts. But since there's a choice to replace with sausages, why not! 😂 I chose pork bockwurst because I wanted to be adventurous! 😋 This was quite a surprise for me because the fragrant toasted bun, savoury sausage, and sweet chocolate and marshmallow have such a nice combination of sweet and savoury. Kind of like a sausage s'mores sandwich! The marshmallows could be melted more though.
However, the chocolate sauce was not very sweet and was not a legit satisfying dessert. I think it would be nicer with the natural sweetness of banana. This dessert didn't really do the amazing sausage justice.
It was worth a try nevertheless. I like how it's unique, weird at the first thought, but surprisingly nice when you actually eat it!
Food: 7/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 9.90 + RM 5 if you replace banana with sausage. Total: RM 14.90. The price is quite affordable since you are given fresh homemade buns and customised healthier sausages by Streaky Hot Dogs. Dessert with just the banana is also already quite cheap!)
Consisting of caramelised onions and maple syrup. I chose to add on bacon strips, and given two in the wrap.
I was lucky enough to try all three types of sausages and buns. This combination was a choice to tone down and settle for something rather healthy and simple because my other choices were quite extravagant and flavourful.
However, this really gave me simple pleasure. I loved this one possibly due to it being in a wrap (I love eating sausages with wraps) and having it with sweet tasty caramelised onions and the personal favourite, bockwurst sausage. There was not much of a difference in taste for chicken or pork bockwurst though!
This could be better if the chef toasted the wrap to make the tortilla slightly crispier and more bite in the mouth. Bacon strips definitely complements the whole wrap with crispy salty goodness. I recommend the simple pleasure for your pleasure, at any choice of buns.
Of course this wasn't exactly healthy, but at least...heathier? Hey, there's nitrate free sausage, tortilla wrap (lower carb), with natural sweetener and some veggies (caramelised onions). 😅😝 Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 14.50 + RM3 for bacon add on - prices at Streaky Hot Dogs ranges from RM 10.90 to RM 16.50 for the hot dogs, no extra or lesser costs for different types of sausage and bun.)
Torched for extra colour and taste.
I'm starting to think I like everything I ate here. But this Japanese inspired hot dog combination was a mix of freshness from cucumber, salty and texture from fried tofu and bacon bits, some wave of fatty mashed seafood sauce.
The mentaiko sauce was a little overwhelming because it took over the taste of the sausage and I made quite a mess eating this. I personally do not like too much sauce/dressing on my food. The mentaiko sauce did give a lot of flavour nevertheless.
Bratwurst sausage only comes in pork, coarse pork meat, par boiled and lightly seared on the grill when served. This was not as crunchy/snappy as bratwurst. But thinking about coarse meat, it's not as bad as you think. They were still very tender and delicious. The taste was milder than the bockwursts. Probably due to the mentaiko sauce covering the taste. Diameter was a little thicker than bratwurst and shorter in length.
Steamed buns were so fluffy! Because it was so soft, I even thought of buying home some for myself!
I'll name this combination: Sushi Hot Dog. Because that's what came through my mind on the first bite.
Food: 7/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 15.90 - again, I like the generosity of portion and the flexibility to chose what sausages and type of buns you'd like! 😋)
My combustion for Shrooms was: Toasted buns and bockwurst pork sausage.
Topped with a medley of grilled portobello mushrooms, mushrooms, and enoki mushroom.
This was a recommended and bestseller menu. Also one of my personal favourites! As recommended, the toasted buns would complement the delicious bockwurst pork sausage. The bockwurst is smoked, with smooth texture pork meat and great crunchy snap sound at bite. Talk about great texture and flavour. Since the sausages are fully customised by the owners, they are nitrate free and not too salty as those in supermarket delis. Definitely more protein filling and taste. It wasn't too porky. The bockwurst was a winner for me among all that I've tried.
The sausage was about 4 inches long and 1 inch of diameter thick. So generous!
Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 14.50 - prices are quite affordable to be given such a delicious combination and portion. The bun may seem quite small but one hot dog combo is really enough to stuff an average appetite. I don't mind paying for a gourmet hot dog. Just like how we pay for gourmet "geek" burgers 😉)
