Western
Check this place out if you like oysters. And the view is amazing!
Sirloin Steak for $12 is too good to be true? Then probably you have not heard of Knuckles Bistro; this industrial-themed western bistro at Kovan owned by Nakhon Kitchen serves uncommonly served western grub at really affordable rates. Their signature item would be the Pork Knuckles; at a price of $10 with quality that makes it value-for-money. Fancy a drink? They do serve several types of alcohol so you can enjoy a pint or two along with Pork Knuckles in true German fashion. A great alternative to the crazy queues at Nakhon Kitchen, especially since the queue at Knuckles had always been comparatively shorter.
Possibly the best western food stall I've ever had. Fried garlic brings it to another level!
Whoever said you can only get good pasta at fancy Italian restaurants has not yet discovered the food at Ah Bong's Italian. Located in a humble coffeeshop in Tiong Bahru Estate, this stall serves up some mean Italian pasta - for just $6! For some perfect comfort food, get the Slow Cooked Pork Ragu, Ah Bong's Birthday Pasta (spaghetti served with broccoli cheese sauce and bacon) or Ah Bong’s Mac & Cheese with truffle oil. End off your meal with some unique crème brûlée - with flavours extending to earl grey, triple espresso, and Thai milk tea. Their incredibly satisfying, extremely affordable and regularly changing menu will keep you coming back!
Brunch time with Besties.
time to think of dinner ideas!
But after the first bite, there was more. However, it was rather dry.
One of the best octopus dishes in town, the tender, slightly chewy flesh soaking in the earthy olive oil and paprika. Perfectly paired with chunky smashed potatoes.
I was gobsmacked at how spectacular this beef tartare was. My eyes literally rolled in pleasure with the first bite. Having been hand-chopped with a knife, the texture of the Angus beef couldn't be more perfectly toothsome. Classic condiments of raw onion, shallots, sea salt, pepper and a full moon yolk made it burst with a deluge of flavour. The side of super-skinny, crispy and salty French Fries were addictive beyond measure.

Off-the-menu dishes that chef Daniel Sia specially made for a story I'm working on. Crazy how delicious he made this vegetable taste!!
This place should be way of the new generation of hawker.
