Pork chop, minced meat, mushrooms. Their pork chop is the deep-fry until like biscuit kind. Wide variety of dishes here.
Most Teochew porridge and caifan stalls only serve hairy gourd. Here they also have sponge gourd, which is similar but more substantial in the bite.
Fresh fish! but the rest of the dishes were just alright.. Not the best of all, but its a good try if you are around the vicnintg
Open till 5am daily, this place is great for getting your midnight Teochew muay fix as well as party-goers before they decide to call it a night. My picks are the garlicky lala (clams), braised duck, and braised tau pok. But how could they have messed up my favourite chye poh omelette? It was sugary, and the sweetness certainly did not come from the preserved radish.
Do ask for a bowl of braised sauce to go with your plain porridge! #BurppleSGLateNight
Overall decent Teochew Porridge with a good spread of sides to choose from, but what I really liked was the stir fried clams in bean sauce! Fresh and plump, they were a tad salty but that’s also why it was a good pairing with the porridge. Skip the Chye Poh Omelette as it was way too sweet. #BurppleSGLateNight
When you end up in a rare supper situation (at least for me) right after dinner — pretty decent dishes served with their Teochew Porridge here with a wide variety to choose from such as the preserved vegetables, omelette with chai po, braised duck and pig intestines. Speaking of those pig intestines; one of those that are cleaned pretty well without carrying a stench and tastes pretty good with the braised sauce — and that's coming from a person who doesn't fancy innards.
