The Basmati Rice was fluffy & very fragrant. Very generous serving.
Mutton was tender and the thick curry was flavourful. Mutton had a strong gamey taste.
The queue was massively long but somewhat fast moving. This shop only opens for 3 hours a day only.
This popular stall, serving for over 30 years, is reowned for their hearty, delicious biryani.
.
Now helmed by the 2nd generation owners, they typically draw a long queue even before they open... and which only grows longer until they sell out, usually within 4 hours.
.
Much has been said of their large, generous chunks of mutton. Meaty and tender soft, coming apart easily, each bite carries a bold meaty savoury salty spice flavour.
.
Their basmatic rice is fluffy and loose, well tossed and seasoned with a complex blend of spices, including cardamom, cloves, turmeric, and uniquely, pandan / screwpine leaves. This imparts a delicate and enticing floral earthy grainy sweet spice flavour.
.
Sliced crunchy pickled cucumbers lend a refreshing vegetal sweet sour contrast, while the bouncy hard boiled egg lends body with eggy sweet notes.
.
They serve with a rich dalcha curry, though I find it good enough without, it's tasty as is.

I have heard so much of their Mutton Biryani ($7), and seen too many snaking queues from this stall, and hence decided to try it out 😍 I must say, its probably one of the best biryani I've had. The mountain of rice given was fluffy and really flavourful, superb with the curry given! The mutton was so beautifully tender and succulent as well 😍 definitely a must try when you're in the area!
Tucked in a coffee shop in Blk 17 Beach Road an unnamed stall sells very yummy nasi briyani. You can either have chicken or mutton nasi briyani. Both are equally fragrant and tasty. Stall opens at about 11 am and sold out usually by 2 pm.
Big plate of briyani for $6 (I asked for lesser rice 😅) Would recommend you guys to go down earlier as I reached there 30mins before it closes and there’s not much stuffs left.
This famous briyani stall needs no signboard for one to find it—simply look for the snaking queue of hungry patrons and you'll know you're at the right spot! Come for their Mutton Nasi Briyani ($6) which sees fall-off-the-bone tender mutton on fragrant basmati rice doused with gravy and a side of appetizing achar. Pro tip: they start serving at 11:20, so be sure to come earlier! Photo by Burppler Maureen Ow
