Steamed tofu with chicken basil @ $10+

Tofu is nice and soft, goes well with the sauce. Wish there's a bit more minced meat.

Tom yum seafood soup with chilli paste @ $9+

Good balance of taste and not overly spicy. This is for small size and there's quite some ingredients (fish, sotong, prawn).

Many dishes here to choose from and can also get single person's meals. Will be back again.

Jai Thai is my default place for a good plate of pad Thai - it is always good .

Sufficient wok hei , sufficiently moist , not too sweet , not too oily , nice al dente noodles .

And if this is not enough - it is also really affordable .

Added 1 dollar this time for extra eggy-ness . It either out really nice .

The lunch set comes with rice and a glass of beverage. The soup is quite spicy and you cannot literally avoid chilies in every spoon of the soup. Ingredients include squit, fish slices and prawns.

Perhaps appealing more to the lunch crowd in the vicinity, the dinner service on a weekday seemed to be quieter than I would expect. But I knew of Jai Thai as a restaurant serving authentic Thai food at affordable prices, so no surprise to how I would walk down Purvis Street to have this.

And so their Tom Yum Soup (S$8.00 for Small portion) had sufficient sour and spicy flavours to go with the relatively decent portion of seafood, including prawn, dory and squid, coupled with an assortment of mushrooms. Honestly, just one of this with a bowl of brown rice would be a satisfying dinner for me, only that I would subconsciously compare this with that from their Clover Avenue outlet...

Had mixed platter, mango salad, Deep Fried Sea bass with Chilli Sauce, Pad Thai, Fried Kang Kong and Fried Rice with Chicken Basil Leaf. We ordered medium size for most of the dishes. Food is generally pretty nice and the portion is quite suitable to be shared among 5. Iā€™m particularly impressed by the fried rice which is really hot and spicy.
