The stall is located at Maxwell Food Centre and manned by an elderly coupon who might retire the business real soon. They told me that they had to start preparing the food from 3am and only get to rest when it’s all sell out. From the long hours of standing and frying, it took a toll on their health, and with no one in sight, including their children, to take over the business, their brand and recipe might soon be going into the history books. If you haven’t gotten the chance to try this heritage food, do give them your support before they eventually wind down the business.

A personal favorite of mine, this is one of the last remaining Hokkien delicacies that is slowly dying out. Now managed by its third generation owners, it has moved from its original location at China street where they operated by push cart to its present location at Maxwell market.
4 of the most important ingredients in a ngoh hiang is handmade and they are the meat roll, egg cake, pink sausage and the liver roll. Ordered the first three, and they were truly savory and delightful. As a Hokkien myself, I truly appreciate the flavors that is traditional, satisfying and importantly, made with much sincerity - use of real ingredients without the use of fillers. The bee hoon is also delightful and light on the palate.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We opted for an ala carte mix n match. Picked the ngoh hiang, tau kwa, egg roll and fish ball together with a plate of bee hoon to share. Bee hoon was really springy and light, goes very well with the chili sauce provided. Ngoh hiang was really crispy with flavourful pork fillings. Egg roll was the special one that i really like, not common found in the usual wu xiang stall. Fried to crispy on the outside full of egg flavour on the inner.
An excellent old school ngoh Hiang stall in Maxwell FC. Items are fried on the spot yet not only. Every item is tasty stuffed with delicious ingredients. Bee hoon is well fried and both chilli and sweet sauces are made just right for ngoh hiang. Yummy yummy yum yum yum.
Legendary to me. You can tell from the stallholders' demeanour lol. They take pride in making things by hand. Outstanding were the water chestnut cake and sausage. The tiny ngoh hiang costs a premium, although it's okay only. If there's a flaw, it's the beehoon, but most beehoon at wu xiang stalls are mediocre lah.
