Coming to Clementi for so many times, I wasn’t aware of the existence of this food centre until my recent trip to a restaurant nearby.
So I told myself I have to drop by some time and I made it.
There’s only a few food stalls available here and Hock Thye Noodles has been selling here for many years.
A very old school wanton noodle prepared by an old man behind. Flavourful and chewy noodles, accompanied by char siew, veggie and a bowl of wanton soup.
Quite a solid bowl of wanton mee.
Sauce was spicy and made a great flavourful dip for the springy and el dente noodles.
From Hock Thye Noodles stall.
云吞面
Spinach green noodles for wanton mee, sliced char siew.
With a small bowl holding a couple of handmade wanton.
Also another signature bowl of dumping soup.
Tasty!
Some gems found in this forgotten part of clementi -
For those of you whom like your noodles more crunchy than eggy or doughy , this traditional wanton mee will appeal to you .
Nice lean char siew laced with a layer of red ( old school style ) and plump wantons .
Nice chilli and a pretty addictive black sauce .
Extremely affordable :)
Hop over to the teh Tarik stall in the front for a ginger teh halia 😀 that is extremely good too .
This stall is located in a quiet part of the neighbourhood, away from the bustling Clementi town. Their plump and flavourful dumplings are filled with minced pork and prawns with an added delight from the black fungus and water chestnut which give a nice crunchiness. 😋
