Tender and succulent chunks of chicken along with potato, fish cake, beansprouts, curry-soaked tau pok and noodles are what I got in my bowl of curry chicken noodles. The curry has a good balance with a strong coconut taste yet is not heavy/thick in texture. The curry however was a little greasy but still drinkable without feeling jelak. Everything in there complements well with the flavourful curry. The queue can get really long during mealtime so avoid those hours if you donāt wish to spend too much time standing in the queue ć$5.50
Rainy weather, extra shiok having the Curry Chicken Noodle

If you're a fan of curry chicken noodles, you'd have tried / known / eaten at Heng Kee Curry Chicken at Hong Lim Market before.
This old-school curry noodles store still gets long queues during the peak periods which is really encouraging as they've downsized and now only owns 1 storefront.
Having not gone back for a long time, I felt that the curry noodles were a tad bit underwhelming as compared to what I remembered it to be. The broth was thinner than usual & seemed to be lacking in flavour. Even after adding in the extra load of chilli, it didn't bring back the kick that I once raved about. Ingredients wise seemed to have shrunk too, likely due to the shortage of chickens & the rising costs of ingredients as well. Prices have also climbed to a minimum of $6 instead.
Nonetheless, it is still something to try if you're in the area for some nostalgia.
There are 2 curry chicken noodles stall here at Hong Lim Market. Both are good, so no need to compare.
Heng kee opening hours are shorter though, so it was more elusive to me as I work 8-7 daily.
By choosing drumstick option, it will set u back $9.
Chicken was fresh and tender.
Fish cake was bouncy. Potato was soft.
Chilli was shiok.
Overall, really excellent bowl of curry chicken noodle.
I don't mind queueing when comes to good hawker food. Heng Kee Curry Chicken Noodles will always pop up in my mind when we talk about "Curry Chicken." One of the best in Singapore

We tried Heng Keeās today after having frequent the other previously.
We clearly preferred this for its curry that was more flavourful; not as watery as the otherās. Kinda liked that their curry wasnāt piping hot like the otherās so we could enjoy it properly and taste it.
But these were priced higher than the average hawker food, at $5 and $7.50, with choice of part from the chicken only for the latter. We ordered both and concluded that our only justification would be to pay more for a chicken drum meat. Nevertheless, the chicken was still tender and good, similarly for their generous servings of fried beancurd and potato thoroughly cooked in the curry.
