Another cafe (mis) adventure for us! Well, not really that bad. It was just confusing that staff would 'abandon' their stations even if there were no diners. Maybe there were no diners because there were no staff? Hmm. Anyway we were hesitant to enter at first because the place was kosong; no diners, no staff around! Literally. (Yay I can use this infuriating word finally.) It looked as if the place was abandoned because of a sudden zombie outbreak - yes we have too much imagination for our own good. Nonetheless, my friend, ala Samwise the Brave, plucked up the courage to venture into the place and peeped into the very dark kitchen. After moments, she detected a presence and it was one of the staff. We sat down, ordered, while she returned to the kitchen after handing us the menu.

Oh well.

After a while, customers started trickling in and she and her friend had to finally be present to serve. I guess it's just common integrity for staff to be available at their workstations during working hours. Furthermore, there was a glass-door refrigerator at the entrance where anyone with questionable morals might just swipe a packaged dessert.

I had visited once before and I could see the service quality had declined, but not the food. Thank goodness! For those who are looking for excellent Chinese style desserts, this is highly recommended. So far, we've tasted the Milk Pudding, Durian and Mango pancakes (shown in picture), Mango dessert with mango slices and chewy balls, and their Pulut Hitam. Everything was delicious. We just hope that service quality will improve in the future.

The idea of it sounds good but I will not be back for this item. Not expensive @ $3.80 but the Liu Sha in the tang yuan was too diluted and did not give the satisfaction I was expecting.

You have tasted the much-loved Liu Sha Bao (golden custard lava bun), but have you tasted Liu Sha Tang Yuan (golden lava dumplings)? Nothing out of the world, but it's rare and halal, not commonly found in Singapore. The sweet almond soup could be improved though.

At Hee Kee, you'll find affordable Hong Kong desserts with a twist of local flavours, all freshly hand-made daily.
You will also find interesting desserts like (from top right) Salted Egg Yolks Rice Balls, Durian Pancake (with D24 durian purée inside) and Mango Cheong Fun (made of coconut milk jelly skin).

Always finding the same old Hong Kong desserts and wanting to find a place with a bit of difference? Hee Kee Desserts would probably be the spot to hit, for it serves up pretty new and interesting Hong Kong desserts that feels creative from Coconut Cheong Fun to Liu Sha Tang Yuan. If you are in for something more western, you can also choose to go for the Chocolate Lava Cake for a different kind of bursting goodness. A great spot to hit especially if you are looking for dessert but just don't want to settle for things too western.
