Perk of this is that you can add as much fried lard as you want! Just let the friendly owner know & you can have a mountain load of it - but just make your heart can take it.

Generation Y carried on the father business. The young master weighted everything to scale for quality control. During my visit, he was frying the prawn shells for next day broth. Maybe because the wok was not hot enough, which resulted only a little wok hei was felt. The sotong was sliced very finely to avoid any rubbery texture. Biting into the pieces of lard while the spicy chilli lightly tackled the tongue. .

Been on a prawn noodle phase of late and watching videos of people making hokkien prawn mee just stokes my craving. Found out about this joint online and was ecstatic that it's so damn near the office. The stock was deliciously sweet and full of prawn flavour. The dried shrimp chilli gives it an umami lift. What a scrummy slurp!
At stall 137 in Chinatown complex is a young man who's honing his skill in doing a good Hokkien Mee. The sauce and ingredients are good. The sambal chilli is spicy and goes well with the mee.
