The Classic Caesar Salad
Butterfly Blue Pea Rice
Roasted Rainbow Vegetables
Ayam Masak Merah
Tuscan Garlic Cream White Fish
Cod Fish Tofu Bites
Chocolate Swirl Cake
Ice Lime Lemon Tea

The fish was too mushy. The chicken was dry and tough.

Standard caterer for physics events, sometimes they're really good.

The butterfly pea rice with fried shallots was really good, cod was executed decently, but the ayam masak merah was quite weird cos they tuned it to a family friendly sauce that tastes nothing like what you expect

Actl it's pretty passable, no idea what's the price tho. The cream could have been abit better

The content doesn't match the description but this was actl decent. Portion of meat was rather small but otherwise everything was in balance

Every component is actually pretty solid. Grain is an online store that does catering etc. Pesto is commendable as well, would have liked more of it. The veggies were abit bland but it's alright

Their brown nice is stellar. It's the best I've had. They achieved a nice chew, and there's some sweetness to it that makes it very addictive on its own. Glad to have tried it, hard to order a single portion otherwise

The play on textures and flavours was such an enjoyable treat that if one fine day you feel like switching out from the meat protein, this can be the alternative. The contemporary twist in this bento is that the team replaces the regular tea soup with a dang gui broth and added chye poh with an assortment of vegetables, mushrooms and nuts into it. If the other thunder tea rice outside are anything like this, I will order it without hesitation. To modernise it further, Grain uses a mixture of black and brown rice as the base with a hanjuku egg for that added nutrients. Another of their new launch is the Sweet ‘n’ Smoky Barbecued Chicken ($12.95) that has flavours influenced from the American Southwest with hints of barbecued sauce on the chicken, side of pico de gallo that is a popular Mexican salsa over a bed of Cajun-spiced brown rice.

Locally, we all love our laksa, hokkien mee, chilli crab and chicken dish, each a national icon to our food scene. For this launch, Grain has infused these flavours and created three bento boxes and you can get them individually or the Singapore Food Trail Bundle ($35.95) which comes with all three sets.

Combining both the hawker dishes of laksa and hokkien mee which gave birth to the Seafood Laksa Hokkien Mee ($13.95), a fusion noodle dish that contains each dish’s necessary elements, with the squid and prawns from hokkien mee and tofu puffs from laksa that soaks up all the broth goodness. To up the ante further, baby scallops are added to give it that additional luxury, and you will also get a side of sambal belacan to mix in. For the Chunky Crunchy Chilli Crab ($13.95), this pays homage to our chilli crab and this time round, soft-shell crab is battered and deep fried, served with buttery brioche to replace the fried mantou and a side of crab meat chilli dip. Another different aspect of this dish is that the chilli dip is not too spicy so that everyone of all ages can enjoy it.

Last but not least, our Hainanese chicken rice has been reinvented into Grain’s version with the Hainanese Sous Vide Chicken Rice ($11.95) and as the name suggest, the chicken thigh has been sous vide and served on a bed of black and white rice with a soft-boiled egg. There is also the quintennial condiments of chilli sauce, dark soya sauce and ginger sauce that are served separately.

Amazingly rich sauce that makes you want to mop them all up with the salted egg coated wholemeal mantou. Really enjoyed the chunky crab meat and blue hake!! The nutty flavor from the tempeh is thoroughly enhanced by the chili crab sauce. Well done grain! 👍🏻

Decided to give this delivery service another shot given the ever revolving fun menu and the variety of options they have, in order to cater to the diverse tastebuds out there.

Unlike a lot of delivery platforms, Grain does not provide the middle man service, they create, prepare and deliver nutritious and well-balanced meal boxes! They even provide detailed nutritional breakdown for each meal (on site and labeled on each box)

From the last time I ordered (perhaps 2years ago) they have certainly evolved a lot. Their delivery spots have extended (island wide now I believe), delivery service extended to dinner and they also offer a wide selection of catering options. (Mini buffet available for 10pax onwards)

Food:
Tender soft chicken served in hearty ginseng broth which is thicker than the usual soup. This unconventional ginseng soup was really tasty, though leaning on the sweeter side deriving this sweetness from the red date, ginkgo nut and goji berry. The chicken also sits on a pile of flavorful black glutinous rice which reminded me a lot of pulut hitam. And as if all these are not enough to fill you up, there is a side of yam and healthy grains. This seemingly small meal really goes a long way!!

Ingredients:
chicken, chicken stock, brown rice, yam, leek, white rice, black glutinous rice, red date, dried goji berry, barley, ginkgo nut, salt, spring onion, vegetable oil, potato starch, ginger, garlic, shallot, lemongrass, ginseng

This is not a brick and mortar food place but it offers super affordable delivery of just $2 with minimum spend of $20. The menu changes periodically and currently includes my favourite Barbequed Unagi ($16.95, hearty portion). The Unagi is sweet and good memories - inducing (so juicy and well seasoned). The rice that goes with it is flavorful as well and so are the grilled carrots. This is my 3rd time ordering from them and I have tried a few of their dishes and desserts. The Earl grey pear tart doesn't leave you feeling guilty as the ingredients are quite wholesome (If you ignore the sugar and glucose 🙃). They use butter! So no trans fat laden cheap vegetable oils or butter substitute. Taste wise: decadent I must say. Belly belly good!

This lunch seems super healthy with a fillet of mackerel sitting atop a pile of "kale" and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were a little more dehydrated than usual making it hard to eat. And I'm in a kale overload from the intense portion of kale which tasted more like spinach. It would've been easier to eat if the stalky kale was chopped into smaller pieces. The mackerel was the least impressive thing in this box without much flavour compared to the kale and sweet potatoes. Overall a filling lunch but my jaw feels like it's been through a marathon chewing session.

Loving my Broccoli, Cherry Tomatoes and Grilled chicken. Yum yum!

Tasty and healthy salmon pasta. The packaging is nice and the food is delicious. This is a cold food but I really liked it. The price might be on the expensive especially since there is delivery fee on top of it if you want to enjoy one.

Grilled tangy goodness from these lean chicken chunks that were served in such delightful bites, complemented with healthy brussel sprouts, carrots & asparagus 🙌🏼🙌🏼 But that's not all! A complete meal isn't a complete one sans-carbs! The carbs here was some seriously filling carbs - 👶🏼 potatoes 😛😋😋 cutee, n starchy, n delish 🙃🙂😋 the chicken is definitely sth that I enjoyed, a lil' kick of spicy with some tanginess 💛💃🏻💃🏻💋🍋 and that refreshing mouth-watering taste from the right blend of herbs & spices 🌿🍃🌱👄👅👅😜😊☺️😚 shiokk !

This is probably the prettiest packed lunch I've had, and gave me a sense that I'm eating healthy with all of the nutritional facts being shown. The serving size of this Grilled Tangy Chipotle Chicken was more than sufficient, and rather tasty. The roast vegetables especially the Brussels sprouts were a delight to compliment the chicken, and will give you a feeling like you could take on the world after finishing this!
