Chic-A-Two Double Decker Burger.
Didn't order this the first time I was here.
I don't usually eat burger nor do I usually eat chicken thigh meat, hence the burger didn't interest me.
Hubby ordered the Chic-A-Two Burger. He insisted that I try a bite.
🎣 Hooked !!!
Ever since that first visit to G'day Bistro, we have been back at an almost weekly basis.
The photo shows what we will always order - 2x Chic-A-Two Double Decker Burger.
Absolutely no sharing. Nuh-uh! Portion is ultra generous for a regular eater but I make sure I come on an empty stomach and finish the whole thing myself.
Comfort food at its best! Think not about how sinful it is, but the medley of texture and flavours. A piece of grilled chicken + breaded fried chicken + cheese + brown sauce. It's messy gooey goodness!
Wanted to keep this my hidden find but the boys and girls behind this deserve more! Keep up the great work!
This newcomer to the Clementi Avenue 2 'hood brings a welcome bistro option to the suburbs. Set in a quieter part of the neighbourhood, G'Day serves up Western-type fare at reasonable nett prices (no service charge!). The menu puts together familiar flavours like Truffle Fries ($7), Mushroom Aglio Olio ($10.90) and Fish & Chips ($12.90) — perfect for no-brainer family meals in the West. Consider getting the Parmesan Garlic Wings ($8 for six mid-wings), fried till crisp golden and tossed with garlic salt and powdered parmesan. Some Burpplers shared that they found the cheese a bit overwhelming towards the end, so make sure you share these. For mains, the Soft Shell Crab Aglio Olio ($13.90) puts a luxe spin on a classic with a beautifully fried whole crustacean. Burppler Alex Chua loves how the garlic and chilli flakes perk up the flavour of the dish.
Avg Price: $20 per person

Priced at $9.50, I would consider this red velvet waffle with double scoop ice cream to be really worthwhile. The waffle served here tends to be slightly moist and fluffy, instead of the crispy kind. There are a few flavors from the Movenpick ice cream selection to choose from: Vanilla, Maple walnut, Chocolate, Blueberry cheesecake. The maple walnut, somewhat tasted like ferrero rocher, made a good combination with the red velvet waffle. Finally sprinkled with some icing sugar and drizzled with salted caramel sauce. The chocolate ice cream balances the overall sweetness with its slight bitterness. There's also a choice of chocolate sauce!
Say hi to a wholly fried soft shell crab! It's really not bad at all, considering the portion of pasta and crab meat given for the price. Rather crispy sweet crab meat, unlike some that soft shell crabs that gives a flat feeling. I always enjoy al dente linguine used for aglio olio, as it gives more mouthfeel from the tossing in olive oil, chili flakes and fragrant garlic. The cherry tomatoes added a sweet touch amidst the oiliness. But the turnoff - an oil puddle formed at the bottom of the pasta. No, I don't like that extent of greasiness that leaves your lips super oily, and the pasta at the bottom that tastes nothing but oil. Aesthetically, the presentation was quite impressive.

Always liked it when I see chicken wings on the menu as a side, especially if they come with Paprika Honey (which they also have) or some sort of marinade or dusting of powder. Really enjoyed the crispy wings with juicy flesh that came off the bones easily, though thought that the Parmesan can get a little jelak after while — almost akin to the same sort of Parmesan powder one gets to use at casual pizza places; could do with a bit more garlic to counter off the cheesiness. That being said, I do feel that the Honey Paprika Wings would have suited my taste buds better.
A pretty good attempt of a burger that is not too conventional at a neighbourhood cafe that is situated right at the void deck of the HDB block. Sure, the buns could be fluffier and that the pulled duck could be more tender and moist, but it's a rather decent attempt considering the pulled duck does carry a savoury flavour and the BBQ sauce does help to provide some flavour to the entire burger, while the purple slaw creates a refreshing crunch. Think of it as an attempt by to recreate the usual Pulled Pork Burger with their own twist by using duck — and it ends up as an attempt that is worth applauding for, especially for an establishment like this.
