๐ญ๐ฐ HK XO Fried Rice
Couldnt taste the XO element much but its very slightly more flavourful than the original SG one. However it doesnt taste that much different.
๐จ๐ณ Chinese Mala Fried Rice
The mala element wasnโt super strong but I could still taste the occasional mala peppercorn and chilli. Generally preferred this over the SG version as it had more flavour.
๐ธ๐ฌ Singapore Fried Rice
A pretty typical fried rice dish, it tastes like those zi char fried rice and not really the dtf style ones. Generally not bad, its pretty oily but has enough flavour.
Hong kong style fried rice with pork cutlet @ $7.50
(But the auntie gave me $2.20 change for a $10 note ๐๐)
Very nice fried rice, can taste the wok hey from the first mouth, but can be a bit one dimensional after a while. Which is where the chilli comes in, it's a bit salty a bit sweet, so tastes really great. And it's crispy so adds texture, think it's fried with ikan billis and maybe salted fish?
The pork cutlet is alright, meat is slightly tough. Think will try another style with chicken cutlet next time.
Simple menu but good variety with the different combinations of styles and ingredients.
The ๐ง๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ ๐ฆ๐๐๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐๐๐น๐ฒ๐ ($7.50) paled in comparison to the former. The tom yum flavour was very faint, so the rice was mediocre. The chicken cutlet, though, was adroitly deep fried, and tasted terrific. The chilli also deserves special mention. Aromatic and punchy, it was mesmerizingly mouth-watering. Pairing it with the rice and proteins immediately elevated their flavour by several notches.

Fried Rice Boy serves "international fried rice". The first plate we had was the The intoxicating mala flavour was infused into every grain of rice, resulting in fluffy, fragrant rice that was seductively scrumptious. The rice also possessed ample amounts of wok hei, showcasing the chef's expertise. The fresh and crunchy shrimps were the perfect accompaniment to the rice.
