Vivo had been crowded with pokemon-go fans. Went back to this place again to try out other food, oyster mee sua and stew beef noodle (红烧牛肉面)and the deep fried chicken chop. Still feel that the minced meat rice that we tried before was better. Whatever that we ordered today were not close to what we eaten in Taiwan before. But! It was just beside a few poke-stops. Lol
A place to go if u have any craving for Taiwan night market food. The mince meat rice and mee sua waa cheap and good. Portion is big and the taste decent
This is so good! Ever since my first bowl of braised pork rice in Jiufen (Taiwan), I been searching everywhere for a good bowl of that sinful yet so tasty goodness.
Many Taiwanese food stalls or restaurants in Singapore serve braised pork rice that are either overpriced or too salty. Now I'm so happy to have found a place for affordable and yummy comforting bowl of this. 😍
I have a thing for tin - it has a traditional Taiwanese bento feel to it. Situated @ Vivocity's Food Republic, Five Little Bears has a pretty extensive variety of Taiwanese food to satisfy my cravings for savory food.
The bento was stuffed with rice, sweet and tasty braised beancurd skin, salty yet appetizing preserved vegetables, crunchy pickled cucumbers, half of a braised egg, healthy blanched leafy vegetables and the flavourful pork ribs. The bento comes with a bowl of seaweed soup, which I found pretty bland but it cleanses my palette at the end of my meal. All of these for just $7.50, what a steal! 😙
Although the portion was smaller than expected, the quality did not disappoint. It was served crispy hot with minimal oiliness. The chilli powder on the side brilliantly added the punch of spiciness I like. 👍
Big in portion as well as taste, this new-ish Taiwanese stall(Five Little Bears) at Food Republic in Vivocity exceeded my expectations with generous slices of tender, sweet marinated pork, beancurd skin, 'kiam chye', pickled cucumbers, cabbage and sliced carrot atop a bed of rice. The bowl of seaweed and beancurd skin soup is surprisingly soothing and mellow as well.
