Wagyu Beef Cheek with Roast Peppers

$28.00 · 10 Reviews

Ordered the Casarecce with Truffle Pesto and Porcini Mushroom and Wagyu Beef Cheek with Roast Peppers. I've always like chewier pasta but the one served today was abit too hard even for me. I says today cause the previous time I came the pasta was always perrrrfectttt. The sauce was abit thick but good. The beef was practically melting in my mouth with the sauce tasting like the chinese dan gui herbs. But that's it. Had couple of Paulaner Lager as well. Full and Satisfying. Paid $68.30 in all with a burpple one for one for the mains.

Don’t quite know where to begin for this, but wow. Finally understand what everyone was saying about not needing a knife, cause this has to be one of the most tender beef cheeks I’ve ever encountered 🤭🤭 Juicy and fork-level-easy tender, this is definitely a must try and still can’t get over how good this is?? Even the roasted peppers and olives on the side were delicious (I hate olives btw), with a normal side of mash. Only gripe would be that since it’s such an amazing dish, it’s only lacking that extra touch to the mashed potatoes to complete the perfection. Definitely do try especially when there’s eatigo 50% at dinnertime, and every other app possible like burpple/entertainer 👍🏻👍🏻

In my opinion, this is probably SONS' best dish. The wagyu beef cheek is so tender that it's not an exaggeration to say that you don't need a knife to eat it. If there's only one dish you can try from SONS, this is the dish.

Trust me when I say that this dish doesn't require a knife at all. Lean yet fork-tender, the wagyu beef cheek was superbly satisfying and can be a great alternative to your regular steak. My friend and I were pleasantly surprised at the quality and size of this beef cheek, and even happier to have this as part of Burpple Beyond's 1-for-1 deal!

Huge portion, at least 250-300g. I don't understand why they serve u a knife when just like good pasta, all you need for this dish is a fork. It's that tender. The gelatinous nature(compared to a fatty piece of meat) means that it doesn't get overwhelming and you can keep going between the well-roasted peppers and the dark sauce with roasted notes

The unique taste of cheek got a bit too strong towards the end.
Used entertainer of course.

Used The Entertainer for this - Grilled Grass-fed Beef Sirloin Tagliata ($36) and Wagyu Beef Cheek with Roast Peppers. The sirloin looked great but tasted a little too dry, and @g.165 thinks they could use a little more seasoning. Both of us weren't a fan of the soggy salad.
My wagyu beef cheek fared so much better imo! It was honestly more like Beef stew with how darn tender it was and all that gravy. Served with creamy mash potatoes and roasted peppers (also overcooked but quite tasty), portion was quite huge so this was pretty worth my $$.
