As always, a safe option. Sousvide, the fish was soft while the skin was very crisp with a brown butter miso on it (which we mistook for charred bits but turned out to be very tasty!). Served with giant couscous, portion looked small but it was quite filling.
Christmas Special - replacing their usual roasted chicken with this maple glazed roasted chicken, served with baba ghanoush ($16).
The maple glazed chicken was sweet with a hint of spiciness, while juicy and tender inside. I liked how most dishes here has a bit of middle-eastern influence, the creamy, smoky baba ghanoush was an interesting accompaniment.
*Used The Entertainer app, so it’s pretty affordable with the 1-for-1 mains promo
I've never had this and Bone Marrow for $12? Of course we got this. Fatty and creamy, while it was bland on its own, pairing it with the buttered toasted baguette, delightfully crisp in contrast with the marrow was pretty tasty. Served with salt, parsley and shallots on the side for taste.
Major meat lover here but I didn't have any regrets ordering the Gnocchi ($17). Sweet fragrance from the corn, garlic herb crumbs with soft gnocchi, caramelised a lovely brown.
Yet another rainy day saved by @deliveroo_sg! Got the Chicken & Mushroom Pie ($7.71) which came piping hot, creamy without being gelat, with chunky chicken and mushrooms. Generously filled with lamb chunks (I'm not really a fan because of the smell, but this was subtle enough), the Lamb Shank Pie ($8.45) was pretty decent. Loved the light, buttery flakey pastry of their pies! Other than that, they've got mains like baked pasta / rice. The Chicken Mushroom Rigatoni ($13.81) and Lobster Bisque Baked Rice ($15.94) were both baked till golden brown, the former a little bland but nothing a little chilli flakes and black pepper couldn't save. The baked rice was bursting with flavours, nicely soaked in lobster bisque, with two giant mussels and sliced fish hidden under the cheese!
I can never resist sticky date cakes - and this came warm, with ice cream packed separately. The best part about eating at home is that I could add an additional scoop of my favourite Royal Milk Tea ice cream! -

Not only was it beautifully plated, this Squid Ink Risotto with Purple Octopus ($28) was absolutely delish and definitely got our unanimous #burpproval! Will be dreaming of this rich, creamy, umami-packed and perfectly cooked squid ink risotto with pickled shimeiji that gave a burst of flavour for each mouthful. Partaaaaaye in the mouth! Not forgetting the purple octopus, which was tender with just the right amount of chewiness, savoury and well-complemented with the fragrant yet mellow, zesty saffron lemon curd. Mmhmmmmm.
Thanks @bridge.sg for hosting and @alhsx for extending the invite!
Weekends are for staying in so we deliveroo-ed! As usual, indecisive me overordered (kinda, but we finished them all). At $10.20 for a bento of grilled salmon with sweet-tangy mango sauce, pasta and sides, this was pretty decent and value-for-money. Really enjoyed the 1/4 roasted chicken with sweet BBQ sauce on the smokey, tender pork ribs ($18). Also got the buffalo drumlets ($5.90) which were tangy with a little heat. Portion was a bit tiny but finger-lickin' good as a perfect TV snack! The most impressive dish was definitely the curry chicken baked rice ($10.20), even with delivery it came piping hot and so cheesy, with generous chunks of chicken. Tasted more like Japanese curry which we didn't mind, pretty comforting! For the whole of next week (1st -7th August), Deliveroo is having a 1-for-1 promotion from selected merchants because you deserve the best. Just key in your location search for western food nearby, and order them. Easy peasy, though you might have a hard time making decisions with so many choices available!

Wasn't as crackling as I'd like but the pork was tender and tasty. Mashed potato was not overly buttery and texture was just right! Overall not exceptionally mindblowing but pretty satisfying. This is definitely a place to go for homely, comfort food. Will be back to try their signature pork knuckles.
Signature platter ($40) - Salted egg yolk cheese softshell crab slider (SEY was pretty shiok but the softshell crab's batter was too thick, and wasn't crispy. Bun was nice tho) / baked slipper lobster with Sambal aioli for a spicy kick / truffle fries with wild truffle mayo (we loved the dip!) / spicy peri peri chicken with nacho chips.
Slipper lobster, crab ball with tomyum cream pasta fared better imo. We enjoyed the tomyum cream!
A good place for drinks (quite a good selection of craft beer etc), ambience, friendly staff but honestly not quite a fan of their food.
Used The Entertainer for this - Grilled Grass-fed Beef Sirloin Tagliata ($36) and Wagyu Beef Cheek with Roast Peppers. The sirloin looked great but tasted a little too dry, and @g.165 thinks they could use a little more seasoning. Both of us weren't a fan of the soggy salad.
My wagyu beef cheek fared so much better imo! It was honestly more like Beef stew with how darn tender it was and all that gravy. Served with creamy mash potatoes and roasted peppers (also overcooked but quite tasty), portion was quite huge so this was pretty worth my $$.
This was pretty good - tender and well-marinated. $16 for 100g, we would probably come back again!
($62) - a meat platter of half rack pork ribs, sirloin, chicken and pulled pork, with fries, salad and choice of two dips (we got the brown sauce and Cajun mayo). Supposedly good for 2-3pax but actually it was just nice for both of us. Meats were generally quite decent and well-marinated. Loved the decor of this place with all the figurines and quirky designs! Will be back to try the crazy thick burger that I saw!!
