My favourite dish of the night!!! Traditional baked casserole of beef minced meat, eggplant, potato and bechamel sauce. They were extremely generous with the cheese and eggplant, LOVE IT
A traditional baked casserole of beef minced meat, eggplant, potato & bƩchamel sauce.
Heavy covered with all the ingredients but wasnāt too overwhelming to me.
This was good too! The eggplant, potatoes and bechamel sauce came together nicely and was very tasty. They didnāt heavily season it, the natural flavours of the eggplant and potatoes were allowed to come through.
Canāt help but compare this to Blu Kouzinaās version, which had a strange aftertaste. Safe to say, I definitely enjoyed Bakalakiās rendition much more.
when we step into @bakalakigreektaverna. Simple elegant with earthy tones and patterned fabrics, it reflects the easy-going Greek feeling!
Start off on a great note as we dig into the platter of dips and freshly baked pitas. Moved on to Htapodi aka Grilled Octopus ($32.90). Cooked with oregano and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, we canāt get enough of this charred yet tender octopus.
Another dish, Moussaka ($25.90) comes at the strong recommendation of my friends. Traditional baked casserole of beef minced meat, eggplant, potato & beĢchamel sauce, just look how creamy good it is.
Whoās a fan of Greek food here? Iām no expert in Greek food but I can say that I really like Bakalaki. Itās fresh, hearty and flavourful.
A Greek dish thatās popular is Moussaka, a baked casserole of sliced aubergine (eggplant), sliced potatoes, minced beef topped with Bechamel sauce. It has a very rich, meaty homemade feel when you eat this dish. And please donāt compare it to lasagne. Theyāre entirely different.
Theyāre open for takeaway/ delivery during this CB period. So do check them out if you wanna have Greek/ Mediterranean food at home.

Good but not the best that I have tried. Could be more chewy. Itās one of their signatures here but I feel you could skip this and go for their salad/ moussaka instead.

2 Dips are Hummus and Tyrokafteri (spicy feta cheese spread). For the main we ordered moussaka and grilled octopus. Food and atmosphere is good, but didn't give me "wow" experience.
One of the rare few Greek restaurants in Singapore. Love the food, great vibes and service šš» try their feta cheese with honey and sesame, moussaka casserole n skewers!
