The perfectly cooked al dente pasta was served warm and it had the right amount of saltiness. They were generous with their prawns which were thoughtfully shelled too 😍 However when it comes to finishing the pasta the bottom of the plate can be quite oily.

Thick-cut fries, fried till crisp and not so starchy inside, served with a LOT of truffle sauce. LOVE.

The last time I visited they also open a prayer box. So if you need some prayer support do consider them!

First I have to say... the queue is a tad ridiculous. The line is placed seemingly a few paces away from the cafe that makes you question if it’s really the queue. I think they were shorthanded idk because no one would care about you until an eternity later. Then you’ll realize yes you have queued at the correct place. Pls understand that there was no one queueing but us and there were a lot of empty tables so... yupp 🌝

Moving on! I have to say the eggs benedict is da bombz. Love the combination of truffle and mashed potatoes. The bread was very hard and impossible to cut with the utensils. Eventually, I gave up and just used my hand 🙂 However, everything paired very well with one another - including the bread. The iced coffee was great too!

On a side note, after we were finally seated the service provided by a waitress was great and she was rather attentive.

Norwegian Salmon Grenobloise - $17

Salmon fillet is pan-fried to crisp on the outside while keeping the moisture intact inside. Paired with asparagus & tons of baby potatoes. I really love the refreshing shallots on the top which have been mixed with lemon juice for that extra punch

One of the best few prawn aglio olio I have tried. The spaghetti is very flavorful as there is a good mix of olive oil, garlic, chili and white wine. The prawn is slightly grilled before served 👍

To be real honest, this meal is kinda sucky. Had a few bites and decided not to finish it.

Pork jowl & meatball pasta, foie gras & quinoa and ling cod fish & chips. Meats were all good. At $13 the foie gras is quite a steal.

“Yellowfish tuna is lightly seared and served rare with mesclun, red radish, fresh tomatoes and edamame. Tossed in a tangy Yuzu vinaigrette, this is a go-to refreshing and flavourful salad”
True to its written description on the menu; if I may to add, the vinaigrette sauce had an element of what tasted like Japanese soy sauce. This gave it an all the more Japanese flavour to the Tataki salad- reminding you of sashimi.

This was part of an invited tasting, I’d have to thank D’Good for hosting and Burpple for the invite!
P.S: D’Good will still be having their National Day special items of Bun Bun Crab Duo and Kopi Chendol till 31 Aug. If you miss the joyous occasion a pop by the cafe might just do the trick.

.
Made using shredded snow crab, each spice flavor packs a punch but yet retaining the natural sweetness from crab meat.
.
Available for the month of August.

Made with the same concept as a lobster roll, snow and blue swimmer crab shreds are drenched with aromatic black pepper and savoury chilli sauce with egg in a toasted bun. End your meal with a Kopi Chendol, a concoction of a expresso (double shot) , coconut milk and gula Melaka. Available till end of August.

Ingredients wise- the burger was difficult not to fall for. Mushroom and cheese with wasabi mayo? Sounds like things I could eat on a weekly basis. Also the buttered and toasted bread that held everything together was a thoughtful given for every good burger.

Thank you Jasmin and Michelle from d’Good Cafe for hosting us and Burpple for the invite to this tasting!

When food meets fun, I’d like to think this birthday Piñata will be a joy for any birthday person! You get to break a chocolate ball Piñata that spills out a child’s dream of fruity pebbles, sugar crystals and sprinkles to fit the idea of “all things colourful”. They (might 😂) land on a good lava cake almost completely concealed by vanilla ice cream, berry compote, fresh fruits and a bit of yoghurt-isque cream. Share the joy when the whole table can dig in; as tried and tested by my dining table of 6 as we scooped off bites with our individual dessert spoons.
Other accessories to the whole birthday experience include a personalised birthday message with your name, a pre recorded birthday song from the crane stand holding your Piñata; a take home Polaroid with well wishes from your dining companions 🙃
Birthdays are hardly meant to be spent individually!

This upgraded rendition comes with two poached eggs sitting on top a bed of mashed potato and crispy potato shreds that gives it an additional mouthfeel and crunch. To up the ante and give it a luxurious touch, a truffle paste & wine sauce was prepared specifically for this dish that was drizzled onto the eggs before freshly shaven black truffles joined the party.

Other notable dishes during the tasting include the appetizer of Tuna Tataki & Tomatoes ($13), Italian comfort food of Medley Mushroom Risotto ($16) and Freshwater Seafood Risotto ($18). Vegetarians are definitely not left out as there’s the d’Big Bello Burger ($18).

Switching it up from their classic lobster roll, the split-top bun is packed with snow and blue swimmer crab shreds in both chili crab/ black pepper crab flavours so the indecisives can get to try both - but of course if you already know what you like, you could always request for a full one-flavour crab bun! Should you go for the halfsies, start with the savoury-sweet chilli crab half before black pepper as the latter is more overwhelming with a bit of spicy kick. I’m not as big a fan of crab as I am of lobster so the lobster roll is still my favourite out of the two. Special mentions to the the crisp chunky fries, and the pairing of refreshing coleslaw served alongside!

The Kopi Chendol, which I absolutely loved works as both a dessert/ thirst quencher. The concoction of 2 espresso shots (but felt like it could do with a stronger taste of coffee) with fresh + coconut milk and gula melaka sourced from Melaka, was not cloying, with a generous amount of pandan jelly and homemade coconut sable so there’s some contrast of textures.
Thank you #burpple for the kind invite and @dgoodcafe for the kind hospitality!

What is a Singapore special without some local desserts? d’Good’s identify as a cafe is interwoven with the local favourite of Chendol for this item. 2 espresso shot marries the earnestly sourced gula Melaka syrup, fresh and coconut milk concoction; with usual condiments of red bean and pandan jelly. A westernised element of the in-house made coconut sable was welcomed. This is a great option to pair with- or end off after the Singapore Crab roll. Similarly the dessert drink is only available during the promotional period of 1-31 August.

Thank you Jasmin and MichelLe from d’Good Cafe for your warm hospitality and Burpple for the invite to this tasting!

As a National Day special (from the 1-31 Aug), d’Good has crafted a seafood roll that gives you the best of both of the crab world in typical Singaporean fashion. On one side you get bright orange chilli crab sauce while the other features peppery black sauce both atop fleshed out snow and blue swimmer crab meat. While I found the bun-roll rather generic; the authentic taste of the crab filling and crowd pleasing potato fries made the dish worthwhile.

Part of an invited tasting, I’d have to thank D’Good for being a great host and Burpple for the invite!

One of the new additions to their local-inspired menu in view of National Day, the Kopi Chendol, which I absolutely loved works as both a dessert/ thirst quencher. Inspired by the lobster roll, the Bun Bun Crab Duo will be a tribute to our renowned chilli and black pepper crab, and for this roll, you will be getting snow and blue swimmer crab shreds in both flavours stuffed inside a single bun. Expect a savoury sweet flavour from the red side while the black side packs an aromatic spicy punch. Served with coleslaw and fries, this is a “zhng-ed” version of a seafood roll that you can complete with an order of a Kopi Chendol, made from Singapore’s favorite green pandan jelly, a dash of gula melaka and mixed in with coconut milk and an espresso concoction.
