I’m very picky when it comes to Korean food (except Korean bbq) and few Korean spots in Singapore have managed to satisfy my stomach. Daejon House is one of the rare exceptions and they push out authentic Korean fare that’ll bring you straight to Korea itself. Ban Chan (side dishes) here are free flow, try not to eat too many before you enjoy the actual food (am guilty of this). I’ve had the army stew here twice and while the portion size isn’t as generous as I would like it to be, the concoction is hearty, hits all the right spots and warms you down to your bones. Very good for cold, rainy nights. Their Korean pancakes are also fantastic; perfectly crisp, not too oily, just the right amount of filling. Also recommend their dumplings which are very generously filled with ingredients and have a lovely, crisp exterior that gives off that satisfying crunch which we all love to hear when we bite into a fried dumpling. Have yet to try the rest of their menu and am excited to, especially their KBBQ. Setting is great for large gatherings too, highly recommend you come here with your friends and colleagues!
This remains as my favourite dish here and perhaps the only one as the food seems to have dropped in overall standards.
Love the noodles, very chewy and has a good texture to it. Similar to nipongnaepong. The soup has a wok hei taste to it and not too spicy. Sliced beef is soft and chewy.
Overall, a must try at DaeJon House!
The seafood pancake used to be good. How it is just meh. The exterior crust is crispy but it is just tasteless deep fried flour.
The seafood portion given is decent.
Total $19.90 for a 10 inch pancake as compared to the usual big but flatter Korean pancake.
Bought the deal on fave many times $16.50 for a large army stew pot. This would feed 2-3 people :) We really love the broth and the affordability. Our go-to place for army stew :)
The soup tastes good even after refill and it’s freeflow. Just wished there is a spicier option, like add spicy 🌶 or something. Ended up adding in their kimchi into the pot. Meat portion is pretty decent and oh we ordered the large portion because the difference in price is just $2. They serve good appetisers too!

This is a small army stew ($24.90) and it is just nice for 2. It was really flavourful and had quite a lot of ingredients in it. The soup here is free flow so this was quite a good deal too.
