The burpple deal for the most expensive beef hotpot set at city hotpot.
honestly when it comes to hotpot, premium meat can’t really be differentiated but I do find the meat cuts slightly bigger than the usual (cheaper) beef set.

I usually go for the prawn soup (comes with one prawn) for the soup base which I do recommend.
I also got the ramen noodles which goes well with the soup at the end.

The set has a wide variety of ingredients so it’s my go to when I want hotpot with more ingredients!!
Always very full when I finish my portion.

8/10
Damage: 💸 $72.45 (plus one coke)

3.75⭐ I never have a soft spot for steamboat and alas WB loves steamboat so much. I have set a quota for him i.e. One steamboat every quarter but I always end up eating more than the quota. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This is a last minute impromptu decision and we ended up queuing for almost 30min. WB always dislike to queue, wherever I bring him to those long queue must try food, he is usually quite reluctant but today he faithfully queue for 30min. 🙄

I had the pork belly set with chicken and mushroom soup while WB had the lamb set with Sichuan spicy soup. Both of us unanimously ordered instant noodle as the staple. We didn't utilised the burpple 1 for 1 as it's restricted to the wagyu ribeye set. We had it before and I find the wagyu meat was mediocre.

Alacarte hotpot with a number of sets to choose from.

The soup choices here are pretty brilliant and all soups we tried were good.

The headache you might find is which soup and which set to choose, but portions are definitely generous!

Celebrated colleague birthday here. Nice and fresh Waggu Beef Beyond $40 1- for -1 deal.

Portions were good, (more than) enough for me! I got the chicken soup and the Tom yum soup, both were tasty but got a bit salty at the end.
Would say that the 1 for 1 is a good deal it as I find the original price not worth it. Overall enjoyed my meal and would be back again!

Used burpple 1-1 for waygu beef set. Generous portion with meat and vege platter. Fish soup, tom yam soup base were delicious. Laksa was so so only. Will definitely visit again!

Miss hot pot so much and finally have it after few months since Circuit Breaker started.

This round I visited their another branch at One Raffles Place. Surprisingly they still attract lots of diners even though of their location.

Because of the safety measures, currently everyone will have their own pot so you could enjoy your hotpot in peace.

The meat portion was sufficient for just one person, with the vegetables platter. $26.99++

Opted for the Wagyu ribeye set meal, with Tom yum and chicken mushroom soup. The soups were tasty, and ingredients were very fresh. Set meal's portion is just nice, and very satisfying! For hygiene purposes, the restaurant also served us the sauces in small bowls for us to take our pick, instead of having a common sauce counter.

Soupy meals are my comfort food, & I could honestly eat hotpot all day erriday.

Here’s my latest gem of a find on Burpple Beyond: 旺爐 City Hotpot Shabu Shabu at Raffles Place. I made a reservation on Chope, & swiped the 1-for-1 Wagyu Ribeye Set ($49.99++) deal.

It comes with your choice of soup, staple, & a "VegiCombo" basket of delicious vegetables & soy products. The beef wasn’t too fatty & it was fresh! Also, very importantly, I enjoyed the Chicken soup base (香菇鸡汤) that I chose.. Would very happily return here again.

Ribeye wagyu beef shabu shabu completely worth it in this place! The set is complete with vegetables and carbs mains!

Great deal for shabushabu hot pot. Will definitely come back again

Enjoyed the wagyu beef set ($49.99) and the pork collar (not pictured) ordered using Burpple Beyond, with the tang hoon. I didn’t count, but I think it was at least eight pieces of wagyu beef and pork collar each? Meat was tender. There was a decent spread of veggies, mushroom, beancurd items. The mala soup base is tasty and spicy. In contrast, the herbal chicken soup base was flat and bitter. Was hungry before dinner and usually eat big portions, but struggled to finish this! Friend had the bak kut teh soup base, which is extremely peppery, and enjoyed the sour tom yum soup base.

Don’t think I’d order the wagyu beef set again without 1-for-1 as $49.99 is quite steep. But worth coming back for their more affordable sets.

Recommend the ba gu teh soup! The meat are fresh and portion is generous!

$49++ for an ala carte steamboat set seemed steep but kudos to burpplebeyond the price’s slashed to half for 2 pax. I really liked the colourful vegetable basket but the pale soup bases here and mediocre protein were minuses of the equation.

I love the food - quality of soup bases, ingredients, and sauces were superb.

Lu rou fan was good - only thing for improvement was that the rice could have been less soft. It was a little too mushy for my liking.

However, people with big appetites need to take note. The amount of food is quite little - my friend and I felt only half-full after finishing everything. We overheard 2 girls beside us saying “omggg it’s so filling we can’t even finish the veggies” lmao wanted to ask them donate the veggies to us hahaha. Jk.

Had the 4 pax set meal and there were a lot of varieties! Very worth the price. Tried the kimchi, fish soup and tomato soup and the kimchi soup was the best. The taro soup is really tasteless.

Fresh vegetables, delicious meats and nice service. Set was a good value with the Burpple beyond.

Price is reasonable especially using burpple beyond is definitely so worth it. So many varieties of soup base to choose.. nice!

I’ve ordered Korean kimchi soup and requested for less chilli. A marriage of kimchi and chicken soup sounds good! The service crew was attentive and offered to add more chicken soup on my visit when the soup is running low. Did I saw wagyu chunk eye roll? Nom noms! The tender and marbled Wagyu beef simply do wonders to our hot pot. I’ve also noticed that the meat is freshly sliced upon order on our visit.
