No frills japanese food place. Will come back again to try their ramen
This place is popular. But I don't eat chirashi don so settled on their ramen. It's not on the level of ramen restaurants but it's competitive. It helps that it has chashu and shabu but not overly pricey.
This Japanese restaurant in Bukit Timah Plaza offers chirashidon, sushi, sashimi, ramenâŚ.the works. We were there to try their much vaunted chirashi dons.
Ordered their mini Chirashi Don, Spicy Chirashi Don and Sanshoku Kaisen Don. Price is average for a Japanese restaurant but you get very fresh and tasty sashimi, whether itâs chopped or sliced, and lots of it. I am especially happy with my sushi rice which to be had the perfect blend of tartness from vinegar and savoury from the salt. A little advice here for the new customers - the spicy bara chirashi Don packs quite a punch. Those who are not used to heat from chilli padi, please do not order or pick away the sliced chilli before eating. But it does impart a special spicy taste to the umami sweetness of sashimi.
The chawanmushi was quite normal but special mention for the creme brĂťlĂŠe. Although you do not get vanilla beans, at $3.90, this is a good dessert to end the meal, with the caramelised sugar imparting just a bit of bitter blending well with the flavours from the silky vanilla egg custard.
Canât wait to come back and try the other items on the menu.
This is like an upgrade of Chirashizushi Shouâs usual Chirashi Don, with an addition of 3 plump oysters on the side. The oysters were fresh, but unfortunately werenât as rich in its flavour - hence it got a little bland half way through. Was a pity too that the rice beneath became a tiny mushy. The sashimi cubes were tasty as usual though, with a mix of salmon, tuna and baby scallops. Would recommend the usual Chirashi Don instead for more value!
Without breaking the bank, head down to @zushishou at Bukit Timah Plaza to satisfy your cravings for Chirashi Don, Kaisen Don and even Tori Paitan Ramen! If you are planning to catch a movie at EagleWings Cinematics, I got you covered with this lunch or dinner date idea.

Iâve come here twice and have been satisfied both times! Ordered the truffle Chirashi Don (pictured) and the Kaki Chirashi don and found the sashimi to be fresh both times. Portion sizes are quite big too - each don comes with salad and miso soup.
The shop isnât very big, so expect a bit of a wait if you come here during peak period. On the bright side, you can order your food while waiting, so youâll be served very quickly once you are seated.
