First time trying it at $5.90. It is bigger than expected and taste like llao llao.
Overall, I think it is not bad
We didn’t actually have this for dinner but you get the point. This was my first time trying Cat & the Fiddle. I got the caramel cheesecake and the bestie got the blueberry cheesecake. Honestly, I thought both were nice- they stuck true to their flavors. If you like that really sweet, heavy caramel flavor, then you’ll like the caramel. And if you like a bit lighter, more fruity sweetness then the blueberry will be great!
We love durian and we love cheesecake. 😋 If you love both, you can get the Mao Shan Wang cheesecake from Cat and the Fiddle too! 😋 We loved the taste of the cheesecake because surprisingly, the taste of the durian wasn't overpowering and we could taste the cheese too! We were also intrigued by the cubes of durian-flavoured sponge cakes on top because they were really fluffy, yet they gave a powerful dose of durian too!
That being said, the serving size of the cake slices here is fairly small and we think this size is enough only for one person. Nonetheless, it is still a great dessert! 😋
We also love the Cat and the Fiddle outlet at Woods Square because there are numerous seats available, giving you a more comfortable environment to enjoy your cheesecakes!
The devil’s chocolate was a chocolate cheesecake topped with bits of chocolate cake. And indeed there was little goodness in it. The cheese was underwhelmed by the spongy cake, and sadly the cake also lacked the “spring” because of the cake has to be kept chilled.
The name is more devilish than the cake itself.
*Note: my taste palate leans towards dark bitter chocolate at a sweet spot of 65%-72% cocoa. So please use that as a gauge of my taste perspective.
Woodlands is definitely much happening now when you see Cat & the Fiddle opened their first dine in cafe here.
Yes you could enjoy some of their cakes directly in the store and accompanying with some drink.
I was here to takeaway some of the cakes. King Cat Of The Mountain definitely for those who love durian so much and the taste is great. For the sweet tooth don’t miss out The Emperor's Romance featuring lychee flavour.
I’ve eaten many cheesecakes in my life but I genuinely think that their burnt cheese cake is one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had omfg....... it’s so soft and creamy and sweet like it just HITS DIFFERENT. Their durian cake is not bad too. But I think their apple crumble is pretty meh. Wouldn’t get it again. BUT THE BURNT CHEESE CAKE THO.... SHEESH 🥴🥴
