Al dente squid ink tagliatelle with generous amounts of prawns, clams and tomatoes. Super messy but satisfying with the saltiness from the squid ink and sweet and sour from the tomatoes. If it already tastes so good through food delivery, imagine when it’s served at the restaurant 👍🏼

Second time here, had a really nice dinner again. I like how there's only a few tables which are not too close together, so you get to enjoy your conversation with companions. Food was great and reasonably priced as well. We shared the meat and cheese platter (22.90++), basket of foccacia(4.90++), aglio olio(13.90++). The meat and cheese platter with the bread was actually really substantial and was enough to fill me and my boyfriend up. Completing the meal with decent wine at 9.90++ per glass.

Honestly, I was taken aback by how good this lasagne was.
It had a lightness I’ve rarely come across in something known for being rich and cheesy. And it wasn’t only because the pool of tomato sauce provided a tangy element. The fact is there was zero stodginess in the layered square of pasta sheets, minced beef and cheese. Everything tasted really fresh and somehow, rather gravity-defying.

An unexpectedly delicious pasta of al dente squid ink tagliatelle cooked in a robust and flavourful tomato cream sauce. As you can probably tell, it’s got seafood. Plenty of it.
When I return, I am ordering one of this to have all to myself.

Parma ham pizza and Quattro stagioni pizza for delivery. It was good. Won’t be the last time.

Love that clean and fresh taste of mozzarella with a kick of racket salad. Get this for your starter you won’t regret!!

Mortadella, Gorgonzola and pistachio. Having never eaten that pizza combination before, I decided to add on an order of the “Bologna” with my usual. It turned out to be delicious but probably not for those of you who are sensitive to strong smelling cheese.
Interestingly, it was only after the pizza was baked that the slices of mortadella were laid on. This was quickly followed by chopped pistachio and a splash of olive oil.
On a separate note, the service here is very friendly. Joseph, Mat and their team are great at making customers feel welcomed and relaxed.

I thought this Seafood Marinara was pretty decent. Can't say I'm a big fan of the softer pasta personally as I am all about al dente-ness, but I'm sure there are those who'll love it precisely because of that. Except for one firmly-closed clam, the rest of the seafood - the mussels, squid, small shrimps, tasted fine. The marinara sauce suited my palate as it's not sweet and was well-balanced with garlic and a hint of chilli.

Their tiramisu comes in a big block and the sponge fingers are well saturated in coffee so it's really moist. There's a sufficient amount of alcohol and mascarpone to keep me happy as well.
Actually, as I was quite full from the pizza, my initial plan was to get the tiramisu to enjoy later at home but the staff explained that they don't do takeaways for any of their three desserts. So we ended up having it at Bottega itself with a cup of black coffee. It was a satisfying end to our meal.

Opened on Tanjong Katong Road earlier this year, Bottega is a Italian grocery that doubles up as a casual eatery serving antipasti, pizzas and pastas, as well as Italian beverages including wine.
We dined there last night and for the pizza, we decided to try the "Mantovana" as it features pumpkin cream instead of the usual tomato sauce. Strewn with pieces of soft pancetta and, here's what I think is particularly brilliant, deep fried capers, the combination of flavours is very appealing to me. I just love the bursts of saltiness the capers bring to the pizza, which by the way, consists of a light brown chewy crust that's praiseworthy.
I learned from the young Italian chef on duty that they use Petra 3 flour for their dough. It is a 100% Italian soft wheat blend grown in a responsible, trackable method and is supposedly, free of pesticides and preservatives. In other words, it's healthier. Now that's good news for sure.

Burrata, spicy salami and Parma from the new(ish) Italian deli in the 'hood. Perfect with a bottle of Amarone. #sundaysinPJs #lycheesFTW #lazychefs

Listed as the special of the day; explained to us as a dessert with elements of hazelnut and squash so we decided to go for it after the staff's recommendation — little did we expect it to be a mousse-based dessert that was a party in the mouth. The top layer was a very indulging and aptly rich hazelnut gelato; smooth and delightful while the bottom lies a squash mousse that's mixed with white chocolate —comes in as smooth as the gelato, but slightly denser and kicks in with a light hint of sweetness. The meringue works great as a neutral flavour to dig into in between spoonfuls of the squash mousse and hazelnut gelato — a mellow and light sweetness that carries a little crispness. A pretty unique and creative dessert especially for the use of squash, and probably one of the most memorable desserts I have had for a while.

Yet another pasta dish from Bottega that felt rather simple and authentic. Chunky beef sauce tossed with tagliatelle, the pasta was done al-dente, while the sauce it was laced with provided satisfying slurps of tangy flavour and meaty bits for some bite; the portion of meat being well thought out for it lasted even till the last strand of noodle, allowing one to indulge into the full experience of the dish from start to end.

From Bottega, a new grocer-cum-bistro concept at Tanjong Katong Road which retails Italian cheese, bread and other products and served antipasta, pasta and pizza. The seating area for the bistro is pretty much outdoors along the corridor for the shop unit is rather small.

Past by the shop once before today's visit and they claimed that they actually make their pizza and pasta in-house — pretty impressed with the ravioli here for how it seemed to be of the right thickness; doesn't feel like there is too much dough here while it is filled with a firm filling of Porcini mushroom within. It comes served in a buttery, cheesy sauce that comes with a little hint of truffle just to round of the savoury flavours pretty nicely. Quite enjoyed the food that is served here which felt pretty authentic and homely (it's run by a couple of Italian guys); would definitely be in my list for places that I would return to try more items on the menu.

A really refreshing aperitif of aperol spritz! Orange bitters amidst sparkly Prosecco soda perfect for a hot afternoon. A definite perk-me-up! We enjoy the cozy and quaint interiors and will definitely return to try out more items on their menu.

The earthy nuts and salty meat worked really well with the slightly sharp and nutty flavour of the gorgonzola beneath it. Oh and most importantly, the thin crispy crust held its own against this formidable combination of toppings. @bottegatk
