Always feel pampered here as I don’t have to crack my brains on what to order - they will ask and curate something for you. The beef was consistently awesome and the fish on nan was so well-fried with crispiness on the outside and juiciness in the inside with no oiliness.

This Prawn Pasta A.K.A. B&L Hei Mee ($18) consists of two grilled tiger prawns and spaghetti cooked in prawn stock, garlic, chili and cognac. I guess I can safely say that these tiger prawns, which are y'uge by the way, are real fresh because I did not feel disgusted nor did I feel like regurgitating my food, but surprisingly I handled it well enough. I know I am not sounding very convincing here but the fact that I am fine with this says a lot, and I even asked my dining partner (who loves seafood by the way; if you won't take it from me, take it from her!) if this is what fresh prawns taste like, to which she said that they are indeed so. If anything, I was RELIEVED to have actually enjoyed this. πŸ˜†

If anything, I would gladly say that the pasta itself is indeed good and I like the combination of ingredients used to savour up the flavour, while the spaghetti absorbs the flavour very well.

At the end of the day, prawn-related dishes are still far from becoming my next must-order's, but if I enjoyed this, a part of me feels that prawn and seafood lovers might enjoy this way more than I ever could. 😁

This is part of a meal hosted by @bittersandlove @freetherobot.sg.

Dinner at Bitters and Love cannot go wrong with a plate of Pan-seared Steak and Frites ($25), which would pair up nicely with some alcohol.

180g Rangers Valley angus beef with a beautiful pink hue that is well seasoned, thinly sliced and juicy without a hint of gaminess from the meat will be sure to fill your hungry heart with generous yet evened out portions of runny sunny side up, side salad, and of course frites that are salted just enough to taste.

While evidently beyond your average steak, there is a bit of chewing effort needed for this, though I would ultimately say that for its value, this is a homely plate of steak that would appease your appetite for indulgence without heftily burning your wallet.

Bitters and Love recently released a brand new dinner menu and it's filled with with several enticing dishes, one being this Pumpkin Soup which happened to be their Soup of the Day ($10), and it is simply delicious!

The soup is smooth and thick with the delightful and natural sweetness of pumpkin, while the crispy croutons have a whiff of truffle flavour that adds a nice savoury touch.

On a whole, this pumpkin soup is really great - quite possibly one of my favourites hands down - and I do wish it would be a regular item on the menu on top of their soup of the day. Alternatively, I believe this would be a perfect accompaniment to Free the Robot's brunch items as well sooo...hinthintwinkwink. πŸ˜†

Shoutout to the fam from @bittersandlove @freetherobot.sg for the awesome meal! Thanks @helloernie_ for having me! 😁

We requested for a customized cocktail. I wanted gin, peach, lime with a sour finishing. Got exactly what I wanted and I loved the peach aftertaste. Great vibes and friendly bartenders!

Paloma ($23+)
Kaya Toast Cocktail ($25+)

Can't speak much of the former because I only had a few sips of it (which I enjoyed). Drank most of the latter & here's what I think of it:

The Kaya was delicious, & I also appreciate the thickness & slight crispness of the toast. The cocktail itself wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be. Probably won't order it again because honestly, I ordered it because it's novel, interesting, & local. Also, the cocktail menu here is quite extensive, you can also let the bartenders whip up something for you depending on your preference. So the next time I come here, I'll probably get something else.

There aren't many seats here; in the small (cosy) space they have, it can get pretty crowded. The music is also really loud, so if you want to catch up/chit chat with your date/friend(s), this might not be the best place to be.
