Kaya Teh Set - $3.40
Β·
Hidden in an outlet at Serangoon Garden, the cafe is within the shopfront, offering all day breakfast items such as coffee, tea and toast. I gotten the Toast Set, which the prices varies according to your order but itβs all below $4. For the set I requested itβs a Kaya Butter Toast, with a cup of Teh, together with the 2 soft-boiled eggs. The eggs and Teh are quite standard, nothing amazing. The toast was more pleasurable, slight crispy toast with traditional kaya and semi-melted butter was just so shiok. I would instead recommend getting a few of their classic kueh and a cup of coffee for better enjoyment. Do give their Chandol a try, even the staff themselves recommends it

Bengawan Solo Cafe
You bet. To my knowledge this could be one of the very very few Bengawan Solo outlets in Singapore that offer some toast, coffee and chendol, on top of the nyonya pastries, cakes and sweets. I love the generous amount of gula melaka that they add to the dessert, and they use kidney beans instead of the usual red beans.
This is a very good deal that is only S$3.20 per bowl for that richness and goodness. Visiting Serangoon Garden soon? Be sure to add this dessert to your makan list.
My favourite thing from Bengawan Solo.
One of my go-to kuehs.
think it has been a few yrs since i last ate their chend0l π

I get hungry so easily these few days that I feel so fat. Never mind, eat first.
