PSA beef stew is a special

Visited just before they closed at 430pm or sth

Bread absolutely sucks, very chewy not airy at all

Lemongrass ckn was quite tender and well marinated. However the ratio isn't good enough, not with the bread like that. Mayo didn't taste of anything

No reason to make your way down. It's well loved by office crowd, that's all

Ordered the Bami Sai Gon ($5.50) and was rewarded with a freshly baked baguette filled generously with chicken liver pate, pork ham, stew pork and topped with chicken floss. Every bite is pure joy and the pickled carrots and radish help to cut through the richness, giving it a nice balance of flavours and texture.

Bami Express is a small eatery at Tanjong Pagar Plaza (#02-02) that specialises in bánh mì, or Vietnamese baguette. I had the Bami Sai Gon ($5.50) which came with pork ham, stewed pork, chicken liver pate and chicken floss. The freshly made baguette is warm, soft and airy on the inside, and crispy and crackly on the outside. I omitted the cucumber and cilantro for personal preference (opps😅) but the pickled carrots and radish is quite refreshing. Yay to a tasty and wallet-friendly lunch!

Grill Pork Vermicelli (S$6)
Topup S$1 for Vietnamese Coffee

A delicious bowl of Vietnamese pork vermicelli for a change from banh mi. Quite thick pieces of well marinated pork. Wish there was a Vietnamese fried spring roll added to it.

A takeaway bahn mi place that freshly toast their own bread! Quite unassuming and seems a little random, but it’s a simple and yummy dish.

Gets crowded during lunch hours!

Quite a busy outlet but service is fast enough not to get put off. My Bami was delicious- a good balance of meats and veggies in the crispy baguette. Would definitely repeat my visit for banh mi or bowls.

There's a pretty long wait during lunch, but it's a good sandwich! Crunchy and soft bread, tasty veggies. The duck was a bit fatty but there are other good meat options. Similar to Subway, but much less "bready."

This is their miss saigon. The meat is tender and the pickles and veggies are fresh and generous in portions. You have got to try it. Delicious and affordable. Can't wait to try the rest of their food.

The Bami Saigon ($5.50) does its job and does it well. The pate, ham, stewed pork came together so well and the veges provided a great crunchy contrast. A very satisfying meal/snack.

I've heard so much about this authentic hole-in-the-wall banh mi shop just a few minutes from Tanjong Pagar MRT. It really lived up to its name!

The real showstopper here is the exceptionally flaky baguette crust that hides pillowy clouds of open crumb. And yes, it's truly crispy, not hard! Can they please expand into a bakery so I can just buy loaves of their baguette?? By the way, I had mine freshly baked because they ran out of bread while I was queueing -- much to the dismay of grumpy aunties, but to my delight.

The classic order here is the bami Saigon, which features ham, floss, and liver paté. I'm not really a fan of either of the 3 so I got the chicken BBQ and boy was it delicious! I wasn't expecting much but the chicken turned out to be deliciously charred and tender despite its humble appearance. Despite what other reviews say, it was juicy and flavourful inside and not dry at all. The portion isn't too huge but is definitely good enough for a decent lunch. Definitely coming back here when I can!

Super crispy and flaky baguette but resultantly on the drier side. The bread did not have much flavour by itself but didn’t quite mind as it allowed the ingredients to shine. The generous loading of meat and pickled vegetables made for a flavourful bite, enhanced by the sweet-sour pickles and bright cilantro.

Bami saigon ($5) comprised pate, pork ham, stew pork, and chicken floss (couldn’t quite distinguish the last element). While tender, the various meats were on the drier side and felt that creamier pate/ more mayo and sauce would have provided better bites.

Bami bbq chicken ($5) included tender grilled chicken coated with a lightly flavoured sweet bbq sauce. Less dry than the former but lacking in the chicken floss and lemongrass element stated on the menu.

Started by a Vietnamese husband-and-wife duo since 2015, Bami Express is a hidden food gem that specialises in a Vietnamese sandwich which is made up of a French baguette smeared with a variety of ingredients. Displaying their freshly baked baguettes proudly, they even supply them to other restaurants in Singapore.

👉Bami Saigon - SGD5
pate, pork ham, stewed pork & chicken floss

As good as it can be, this reminds me of the famous ones I had at Ho Chi Minh City, just that it’s less than SGD2 there lah.😂

Btw, there are many other banh mi combos (with different toppings) to try! And hopefully next time I will be working around Tanjong Pagar area so that I can have this at least once every 2 weeks…🤤

Saw a queue on a Saturday morning while passing by and dropped by to give it a try. I’m so glad I did because this was so delicious!

The beef stew was so flavourful, with large chunks of tender beef pieces. The carrots in the stew provided a bit of sweetness, and the gravy was so perfect for dipping the baguette in. I couldn’t believe that this was only $6, and will definitely return to try more items! Outdoor seating is limited, so try to come during off peak timings!

Pate, pork ham, stew pork, chicken floss.

It’s yummier and more filling with the addition of an egg. Love that they are generous with the pickled daikons and carrots. Bread is crusty, not too heavy and the stew pork and ham both taste good. I just wish it is more saucy and has more meat. 🤭

Nevertheless, it is still one of the tastier yet affordable banh mi around.

Bami Sai Gon contains of pork ham, stew pork and chicken floss. What I love about this banh mi is the crispy baguette. This store makes their own baguette, and they are really fresh with crispy, crackle crust.
.
Definitely worth trying again. 😀

Still hungry .....

I have seen quite a few good reviews about this place and a love a good toasted baguette.

Overall the experience was a let down .

The serving portion was small for the price .

I expected the baguette to be better given that it was made in house but it turned out rather dense .

The baguette was not toasted well enough .

The ingredients were few .

I am still hungry 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣......:
