We got the all day special set with the grilled chicken as teriyaki, sides: pasta and fries. We got this as I am a small eater and preferred sharing a dish. However the scrambled egg was bland and the chicken sausages weren't thay great. For sharing, would suggest just adding on sides :). The teriyaki sauce was sweet and didn't really like it. Was good that they gave it on the side instead of pouring it on the chicken.
The hickory BBQ chicken is a better option as the sauce is nice! They were both well grilled.
My mum was expecting the thicker fries but we got this thin one
My dad ordered the marina spaghetti which good! The sauce was nice and the seafood was of a generous portion.
My bro in law got the grilled fish w herb which felt bland to him

Astons Clarke Quay
well, astons is always known for being a VFM western food chain, especially if you're on a budget. but bonus for us this weekend! we were so tired after walking around and just wanted to settle for something quick around The Central. Most shops are closed, and we didn't want to spur on Chinese restaurants. As someone whove lived in Australia for quite some time, a plate like this is really costly. But this plate here with such a bonus scenery only costed us $12.90, of course, with the complete-the-meal set where there is an additional mushroom soup and a nice little juice.
For small eaters, you can simply get this plate of lemon lime chicken for $10.90. The best part of it is that it is inclusive of two side dishes, ranging from potato salad to Mac and cheese. The lemon lime chicken was grilled almost to perfection, it was tender, juicy and flavourful. The mac & cheese also tasted freshly made, richly in cheese.
For the mushroom soup, this is the real deal. It is creamy with lots of little pieces of mushrooms and tasted really mushroomy. It is coupled with a golden toasted bread that definitely seems crunchier than it looks.
Well, even though Astons is often known as the budget western restaurant to locals, this restaurant serves food that are definitely higher quality than to be called 'budget'!
Overall the dining experience and ambience were pleasant with a nice scenery out while having our meal, overlooking the river, constituting to the perfect afternoon. Priced at $12.90 for both the lime chicken and the mushroom soup inclusive of the drink, we'd give it a rate of 8/10 and conclude it to be very VFM!

Got the steak with onion rings and potato salad on the side. The steak was nicely seared on the outside and juicy on the inside. Went well with the mushroom sauce.
The onion rings were crisp but slightly hard after a while. The potatoes had a nice bite and covered in a tangy mayonnaise. The portion was generous and filling!
Price: $20.90

Chicken is very juicy and tender. Ordinary salad, which is expected. The winner is definitely the fries. Very crispy and evenly seasoned with salt. Oil has been drained very thoroughly to achieve that level of crispyness and a misconception of it being very healthy because it is not greasy at all. Well played, I'm fooled.
Cellular network is very bad at the restaurant. If you are going solo I suggest you bring along a book. If you are going with companions, I suggest you bring those whom you are very close with, otherwise there will be a very long awkward moment while waiting for your food.
