Also a fan of duck confit, i decided to try their rendition of the duck confit which is served with black rice, honey garlic soy sauce, potato gratin, asparagus and maple apple.
the duck leg was really tender and early to cut into. but i felt their sauce was too sweet and the black rice was slightly weird. for me, only the gratin worked well with the duck leg.
really love the ambience here- it’s so cosy where you get to sit on sofas which were slightly low but not that convenient for a meal. chit chats and high teas would be great here. good dating spot here too as it’s pretty quiet
onto the food, i ordered my fave dish here after i tried it at their jewel outlet and that would be the wild salmon fettuccine!!! really well balanced dish. we ordered a side of mala spicy chicken pop which is a different take your usual kfc popcorn chicken.
Duck confit, Japanese cucumber and chives wrapped in crepe served with balsamic glaze, truffle and argula salad
I was swoon over by arteas-tiq (pun intended) presentation of the peking duck roll. My first thought: hooray to a fuss-free, mess-free version of the peking duck! It’s all rolled up and nicely and sliced into bite size versions- no need to get your hands dirty at all! The best part? I’m probably paying a fraction of the price I otherwise would have if I had to order a full peking duck to satisfy any peking duck cravings. Taking in the first bit, I could taste the hoisin sauce and crisp cucumber. It was refreshing, yet and umami. I like how the egg crepe was done perfect - nothing like rubbery tapes or prata that’s been left out for long in the open. The disappointment tho - was that there isn’t any crispy peking duck skin (too much to expect for something at this price point I guess!) and the shredded duck was a tad too salty for my liking. Would I order this again? Probably not, tho it’s an overall well executed dish and probably one of the less common items from a typical cafe fare
Love their wide selection of teas available & also the interesting flavor cookies that comes with it. Highly recommend their lychee tea 👍🏻
Order the high tea set for 2 at $48++
The tea choice in the photo was iced lychee tea and hot honey lavender. Tea was fairly good. However, the food was not up to my expectation. Felt very similar to catering food small bites. First time i had afternoon tea and was not filling at all.
Also, note that hot tea is refillable once with hot water but one of the server gave us the wrong info (say no refill) when we ordered. Service overall was fairly good.
• Lychee Tea, Iced (S$11++)
• Chrysanthemum Tea, Hot (S$11++)
Would recommend Lychee Tea, refreshing and sweet. Skipped chrysanthemum tea, tastes like something you can boil at home.
