Ah Ma Chi Mian (Hougang)

I was in the mood for soup bcm. Not bad got abalone. But overall normal.

It might look simple but it’s actually not your average noodle as the noodles are mixed and coated well with the chilli mixture which had a hint of pork lard oil as well. The plus point is that the noodles are cooked perfectly as it retains a certain chew at every bite. The set comes with a bowl of meatballs with minced meat soup in which the minced is given a quick blanch before it is added to the savoury broth. The star of the bowl has got to be their meatballs as each had a certain bounce and texture to it.

The yuan yang noodles was delicious. The noodles texture was great and could tell that both fishballs and meatballs were handmade from their texture and shape. Soft and chewy even for me who don't really like fishballs. Generous with portion too, comes with 4 fishballs and 4 meatballs. Soup was also tasty with lots of minced meat in it.

The wantons were a bit sad though cuz the filling is smaller than my thumbsize.

Lor mee was good too, taste and texture wise. Got standard but not overly spectacular.

Heard the pig liver version is the best, so will come back to try next time.

portion of noodles on the smaller side. they gave quite a lot of mini meatballs. actl quite nice!! i rlly rlly liked the noodle texture - QQ! i see most people ordering the pig liver noodles so you can give that a shot too if you’re into that!

Handmade fishballs that really bouncy and tasty. Noodles cooked just right not too too cooked nor under cooked. Soup is really tasty with lots of minced meat as base. Yummelicious.

The star of this bowl of Speciality Meatball Noodle ($5.50) has got to be the perfectly cooked noodles that has been mixed with a chilli sauce base. Each strand of the noodle had an ale dente texture bite which showcases the skills of the cook who prepared this bowl. The accompanying bowl of minced meat and meatball soup is a good complement to the overall meal, with 5$3 meatballs having a nice bouncy texture to it.
