This juicy and tender mackerel is so cooked under the heat, the bones are practically edible.

My first time trying Negroni and I kinda find myself liking it a lot. I'm not big fan of Gin but this drink got me interested what other Gin based cocktail would taste this smooth and good.

Their latest addition to the bar bite menu. This is a must try if you have not tasted it before, even more so if you are in a group. This is one dangerous plate to be in front of you.

"The aburi touch makes a whole difference to the dish", says Andrew, the owner of DSTLLRY. You can feel the enhanced taste of mentaiko that really makes you want to continue picking another one from the plate.

As the chef was preparing this, we could smell the charring of the piece of foie gras 10 seats away, building the anticipation for the delicacy.

Served sandwiched between sweetened apples and toasted bread, the foie gras melts in your mouth while the sweet aroma of apple lingers on in the aftertaste. Very appetizing starter to a meal, except we had this after the main dish. πŸ˜‚

Back to satisfy my barachirashi craving. In case you are not aware, D2TLLRY is famous for their signature barachirashi and they were featured in Burpple's guide for Best Barachirashi a while back.

If you like ample amount of succulent maguro cubes mixed in slightly spicy rendition of barachirashi sauce, this is the place to go for.

This dish is one savoury meal with a powerful creamy combination. If you are a fan of creamy stuff like me, you will enjoy this. Otherwise you will be quite turned off by this strong cream based dish.

The caramelised salmon with teriyaki sauce is well flavoured, slight juicy on the inside. Beneath them is a bed of coconut ginger rice in the middle of the green Matcha Beurre Blanc sauce, like a treasure island of sort. You could probably already tell from here it's gonna be a clash of flavours: coconut, green tea and teriyaki. Each of these flavours are strong and stands well on its own, fighting for your taste buds.
I might say, even though I find this enjoyable, the flavour packed in this dish is really strong for me as well. I would definitely order this another time, if I'm unable to find something I would like to try on the menu, but for now, I would prefer to try something else.

If you want some authentic hainanese style western food, this humble family eatery should definitely be on your list.

I have been here many times and it's still my family's favorite place for the amazing food, service and the price.

While they are famous for their Ox Tail, which is my dad's favorite dish and he ordered anyway, I ordered one of their newer item on the menu, the Rosemary Lamb Shank. I can't fully stress how soft and tender the meat is; I simply just need a fork for the meal. It's just so juicy and the marination speaks length for the arduous preparation process.

One of the things I really like about this place is the hospitality. Even before you start ordering your food, you will be warmly greeted by the staff and ushered to your seat. You will also be immediately attracted to the surroundings filled with stuffs of the previous century.

Lastly you will be extremely pleased to hear that they DO NOT charge extra GST and Service charges. If you are in Joo Chiat area, you should definitely try this place.

One of the rare finds in my book. The hokkien mee that we are familiar with is usually wet and the bee hoon is usually the thick version, so finding this dry variation and using thin bee hoon so close to office is a plus for me.

I like this dry texture as it creates a stronger wok hei than the wet version. Every bite is flavourful and definitely enjoyable. They offer $4 to $6 portions as well, but I feel the $4 is a little too small, hence I chose one size up.

For $9.90 that comes with a drink of choice, this donburi bowl with soft chunky beef teppanyaki cubes is definitely worth it. Hidden inside Odeon Katong, this is a hidden πŸ’Ž to look out for.

I know this has been opened for a while since I always walk pass this every day, but I never had the reason to try it, until one hot Sunday. β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈβ˜€οΈ

It is a little pricey for $3.20 if you are expecting some cheap ice cream given the name of the stall, but the ice cream is freshly made and the single scoop is quite huge. They have other premium flavours as well but they are on the $3.90 range.

Popping one of this in your mouth gives you satisfaction that last for exactly (4 sec + chewing_time). Just kidding πŸ˜† However this is definitely one of the items you must order, amidst a good spread of amazing BBQ items to choose from.

P.S you will enjoy the menu. It was entertaining. πŸ˜‚

This is seriously one of the freshest cut you can get for anyone who wants to try maguro but not in Japan. If you just want to sample the 3 different cuts of tuna, this Don is one to go for.

The Sansyoku Meshi comes with toro (とろ), chutoro (中とろ) and otoro (倧とろ). The otoro is buttery smooth and melts with little effort. The chutoro is somewhat like an umami bomb, which burst forth as you chew on it. I personally loved the chutoro out of the 3 different cuts for the experience and the flavor that it produces from within the tuna.

It may seem a bit expensive but for the quality of meat, it is downright worth it.
