Nicely fried fish with chilli crab sauce ๐Ÿฆ€ and sweet potato fries for sides. Was initially contemplating on getting this because usually cafes serve chilli crab sauces that taste more like tomato than chilli ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ - and later decided to have the sauce on the side. Surprisingly the sauce was not tomato-ey and actually has a tinge of spiciness with shreds of egg. I also appreciate how the sweet potato fries are not heavily salted and not overdone.

Overall it was a satisfying meal. ๐ŸŸ

Fuss-free quality burgers for less than $7

Went there twice and tried their buttermilk chicken and signature (beef). The beef burger wins buttermilk hands downsideupways ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป The buttermilk sauce gets jelak towards the end and left a very unpleasant sick feeling in me that koi did not wash down. The beef however was surprisingly smokey and had depth in flavour. Also they only have 1 sidedish option and no drinks - so be prepared to leave hungry if you've an appetite.

Imagine ice cold milk with warm brown sugar boba ๐Ÿ–ค

I've been wanting to try this since forever. But honestly it fell far from my expectation. Warabi topping is nice. Ice cream itself is on the heavier side. Prefer the hojicha > matcha. Waiting time was around 10-15mins. Didn't like how the red beans are at the very bottom and the tasteless rice puffs. If I return I'll probably just get the soft serve - but then again if I'm near Cathay craving for matcha I would head to nana's green tea.

We also ordered a premium chirashi (1 pax) at ~$18. Accidentally stumbled upon this place while looking around the food town. Being in the quaint little corner restaurant makes me feel like I'm in Japan ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ

The curry is smooth and not too thick - not the kind that makes you feel a little sick and heavy afterwards. ๐Ÿ›Honestly the saba katsu was much smaller than I thought. Taste wise, the batter is good and fish tastes fresh but a little dry ๐Ÿค” if that makes any sense. It's definitely a different type of saba from the usual ones I've had at Korean stalls so I can't say I've anything to compare this to. ๐Ÿ˜‚

P.S. food takes really long to be served. We waited probably around 30 mins - yes, even for raw fish on a bowl of rice.

Ordered 1 large dry hokkien mee + salted egg chicken karage + coke

Chicken was surprisingly nice - crispy and juicy though a tad oily for me. Hokkien mee is also nice. The dry version came in beehoon form which I like > egg noodles. Very flavourful soup, I wish they would refill! Prawns were pretty big, also fresh and peels easily. All this was just nice for 2 of us. A little expensive for prawn noodles, not sure if we will try the soup one next ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค

Poofy popiah. Really like their chilli, I left the place with my mouth still tingling. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Try it out if you're nearby looking for a snack! They also sell all kinds of kueh.

Damage: $24 (after 1for1 on #burpplebeyond)

Unagi fried rice was underwhelming. The fish itself is so small I think its smaller than my palm. Original price is $21+ which is very overpriced imo. Spicy crab fried rice is okay. Rice is fragrant, generous amount of tiny scallops and chopped prawns. Still, I wouldn't pay the original amount for it.

Still have un-redeemed deals on #burpplebeyond but I probably won't be going back. But do give it a shot if you're a major fried rice lover. ๐Ÿš

Spring chicken was hugeee and nicely cooked. Juicy and not bland. Vegetable were nicely grilled, soft but still alittle crunchy. Not sure what cuisine they are serving, I'm guessing fusion or Spanish? They also have tapas and cheap beer.

Nice cheese flavour and surprisingly light! Makes a really good party snack, worth a try if you're looking for a dessert that is light and not that sweet.

Really good flavours on the meat. Ordered medium rare and it was perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸปWent there for lunch on a weekday, I think we waited about 30minutes for this. (Too damn long imo) The kitchen is separated by a glass so you can see the chef barbecuing your and smoking your food. We came out smelling alittle smoked too ๐Ÿ™ˆ One of the best steaks I've had in Singapore. But fries were very average.

Spicy level 3.

You can choose the spice level for your tendon sauce from 0 to 3. I got level 3 and the spice kicks in after a few mouthful. Definitely spicer than other tendon places which is additional points from me ๐Ÿค— The bowl itself didn't come with much sauce and there wasn't any side sauces on the table so the rice was quite dry. We had to ask for more sauce. Toppings were alright, nothing special worth commenting. Significant difference in the freshness of the prawn compared to the better tendon places.

Went on a Friday lunch time and the wait for food was pretty damn long. I think we might have waiting 30mins or more. Service was sub par, they all look quite lost. 3 of our orders came wrong. Patronized the place because of the burpplebeyond. Overall food was okay.
