Bff & I were a little puzzled when we saw the 4 tiny brown cubes and we realised we were actually supposed to let it melt over the salmon chunks to season them! What an interesting way to start the meal hahah

The salmon cubes were lightly torched which added a smokey flavour to it, and melted as soon as I placed it in my mouth! It’s rly affordable after the burpple deal and was only $6.5 per bowl! Why are there only 4 deals per restaurant😩

Finally tried it to see what the hype was about! We were served two piping hot pies that were shaped like pillows. The outer layer was crispy and it was filled with banana fillings (made w real bananas) and chocolate fillings! The chocolate part kinda reminded me of the chocolate pie that was served for a limited period of time earlier this year! It was the perfect combination of banana and chocolate and it satisfied my sugar cravings (despite the sky-high number calories in this pie🤭)

Generous portions!! The soy honey sauce was super addictive and it was an even mix of all the ingredients after shaking the entire tub (the recommended way to enjoy this) before digging in! The staff even gave us free onsen eggs hehe super generous😩

Extremely value for money aft the burpple deal and this was $4.6 each even after topping up a dollar for buckwheat noodles & brown rice!

The rose concoction at the bottom wasn’t too sweet and rly complemented the bitter latte at the top! Rly good rose latte tbh but at a cost of $5.5 which is p exorbitant for hawker prices!

Can’t find the location tag for this😩

Queued for about an hour before we finally got a table! I can finally see what the hype is about! They serve pretty unique items like the pan fried mushroom bun, baked salted egg custard bun and steamed crispy rice roll with shrimp! The bill racked up to a whooping $63 even after using two burpple deals so it’s not v wallet friendly😿 However it rly serves quality food and I can tell that a lot of thought has been put into creating these dishes!

This place has become one of the top dim sum places on my list and I’ll be smarter in the future and make a reservation beforehand or opt for takeouts or deliveries hehe

I’m a sucker for liu sha bao and this rly blew my mind!! It’s the first time I’ve com across liu sha bao w a crispy crust unlike the usual soft bao outer layer! The lava oozed out onto my fingers and I wasn’t fast enough to save some of the lava that dripped onto my plate. A definite must-try and one of the best liu sha baos I’ve tasted in my life!

Just a traditional French toast dipped in egg and pan fried topped with a slab of butter! Gotta try it to know how good it is😋

Located at an unsuspecting end of pasir ris central hawker centre, lies wild olives where you’ll see snaking queues at any time of the day. Looking at the queue of about 8 people, I quickly joined the queue thinking that it would move quite quickly, however, I was wrong. The stall has a system of taking an order and making that order individually before moving on to take the next person’s order and this inefficient system is why the queue was moving at snail’s pace. Nonetheless, that didn’t faze me, and it took 30 min before I could finally place my order. The preparation of food was pretty fast and we only had to wait around 3 min.

Their grilled chicken was moist and tender unlike the conventional grilled chicken we get from other places that tend to be dryer. I love the signature mushroom rice which was super fragrant and appetising especially with the generous amount of onions that they added. The herb roasted potato wedges were also pretty well seasoned however, it did get a little too ‘jelak’ for my liking after a few wedges. You also get a bowl of pumpkin soup for just additional $1, which is super worth btw!

Overall, I can see why this inconspicuous stall is extremely popular with the crowds. They take conventional western foods and added their own flare to it, which turned out surprisingly well! It’s also super value for money considering the generous portions and quality of food. I would be back again if not for the long queues I have to conquer first!

Good ol’ frosty bingsu! Even thought the hype has died down, we all know we can count on bingsu for a solid dessert. I was pleasantly surprised to find some delicious rice cake on the bingsu! Perfect for a hot sunny day in sg 🌞

Eggplant, mushroom, fish, ebi, you name it, it’s probably in this bowl!! Overflowing with veggies and proteins, this meal will definitely keep you full for the rest of the day. The original signature tendon was super flavourful and well marinated. The portion is huge and I had a hard time finishing it😪 extremely value for money!!
