I don't know why, but I feel like out of most of the Qiji outlets I've tried, the one at Shaw Towers serves the best popiah! It's sooooo fat and full of ingredients because the serves are really generous and the skin is a lot more springy and fresh than most outlets. And they roll it really tight just the way I like it.

Opened by the people behind Sarines, I had high hopes for this when I came here. I really enjoyed the smashed sweet potato which tasted really buttery and smooth, and the guacamole (thought not the best I've tasted) was still pretty decent and flavourful. But the bowl itself was quite average, with undercooked broccoli that tasted even slightly bitter and chickpeas that weren't very flavourful. Very pretty to look at though!

I'm obsessed with Warabi Mochi!!! It's very different from the regular glutinous rice mochi that is more widely available and sold at most places. The texture is slightly chewy, but it can melt in your mouth after a few bites. I liked both their flavours, but I'll recommend the Kinako for those who prefer the more traditional and sweeter version. If you like more bitter flavours, get their Matcha flavoured Kinako. (But if your indecisive like me, just get both!)

Favourite dessert spot currently in Singapore. I literally rave about this place to all my friends. One of a kind kakigori here because we were the last to get the Sakura πŸ˜‚ The owners here are sooooo friendly, and Kevin came to tell us about their kakigori, which they took months to craft and perfect. (Go down and have a chat with them, they'll be more than happy to explain everything to you! ☺️) Their kakigori is like a cross between traditional ice kachang and Korean Bingsu, although personally think it's a whole new level of shaved ice. The texture of the ice is so fluffy and perfect, and when paired with the Hokkaido Sakura cream Espuma, Houjicha sauce, shiratama, azuki and brownies, it was mindblowingly good. Nothing was over-cloying and all the flavours gelled together really well. Just take my money!

Fluffy french toast cubes served together with whipped cream, vanilla bean ice cream and white wine honey syrup. Don't expect the eggy, heavy, charred and crazily indulgent french toast here. These were light and fluffy, (like crazily fluffy) with a slightly grainy texture from their special flour mix which consists of 8 different grains. Although I loved the french toast, I thought the ice cream was too cloyingly sweet and it melted so so so fast. I did like the fact that it was studded with vanilla beans tho, the flavour was much more pronounced and the ice cream itself has potential to be much better if it was tweaked slightly. Instead of maple syrup, you will be given honey! 🍯 This helped to elevate the french toast, without being cloying. Most of the components were on the lighter side, like most Japanese food, which I really did enjoy. Despite the reviews that said the service here is bad, my experience is exactly the opposite. The service here was incredibly friendly, from both the lady that served me my food and the Uncle whom kept refilling my water for me.

I just had had had to post this because the namecard is just so cute (like it's cuter than the emoji, how is it even possible?!) This has got to be the cutest namecard in the history of all namecards.

At $5.90 per cup, this makes a pretty satisfying post-lunch healthy dessert. It comes with two scoops of frozen acai in the consistency of slightly icy ice cream, topped with bananas 🍌, mangoes, and a granola mix. The granola was actually pretty good for a really healthy tasting granola, consisting of toasted buckwheat groats, sunflower seeds, silvered almonds, sesame seeds and dried blueberries. It's a great treat when you're looking for something to satisfy a sweet-tooth without getting a severe food coma.

I swear, Matchaya never fails to surprise me with new flavours which just pump me up too much that I literally ran down after finding out they served this for this week's special. Personally, I felt that their Sakura flavour was a lot more sweeter as compared to their regular flavours, but it still had a very subtle Sakura taste to it. Get your hands on it before it disappears with the season! 🌸

Couldn't keep my eyes off this sticky date pudding, plus the lady-boss, Zenna was so friendly and coaxed me to try it since it was a daily special and probably wouldn't be back in sometime. This was so moist and fluffy I died a little inside. Though I would prefer if it had those lovely medjool date pieces inside of it, this has got to be the cheapest (though also the smallest) sticky date pudding I've ever eaten. It was perfect to just wipe down by myself and not feel guilty at all since it's (relatively) lighter than your regular sticky date pudding. Zenna even asked if I wanted more toffee sauce 🀀

This is the perfect treat for the days I want something lighter to eat, but I still need cake. The cakes here are so light and fluffy, and the flavour profile is so strong! The black sesame taste was very fragrant and the icing at the top was a perfect compliment. The pistachios were a little soggy though, but I felt like the perfectly done cake was just so good I had no complaints. You can't tell the difference between this and a non vegan cake at all, I promise! Really goes to show how cakes don't need animal products to taste good.

Had serious cravings for frozen yogurt so I only got their black (charcoal) yogurt, and did not opt for their twisto, which gets you both flavours, charcoal yogurt and vanilla soft serve. Loved most of their dried fruit - an interesting mix of different fruit, and a new take on the toppings concept, since most frozen yogurt places don't have such dried fruit toppings. Beware that when you do eat this that your mouth will be stained black for a while πŸ˜‚ I prefer more tangy yogurt but this is much more sweet than tangy, but still a good treat on a hot day, and more interesting than the regular llao llao, though I think I still like my llao llao more. 🌚

Said to be the best tau sar pau in Singapore, but I think I've had better ones! Though this wasn't too bad, fluffy and filled with smooth red bean paste (which was slightly oilier than the usual kind tho, such that it didn't really stick to my teeth). But a tad too pricey for my liking at $2.50 per bun. I can buy cheaper handmade ones at Hawkers at a fraction of the price!
