Egg Tart ($1.20 I think) Crust is like a bland behtehsoh pastry crust, kinda felt like it was just flour and water. It was a little crunchy tho! Egg custard is p soft n silky. I actually don’t mind it, but if you’re looking for a buttery/fragrant crust it’s probably not going to cut it. Can try if you want egg tart but don’t want it to feel so sinful!

Lin Da Ma Thunder Tea Rice Added meatballs, taukwa and ajitsuke tamago. This is not a bad bowl of thunder tea rice but I still prefer the one at Tanjong Pagar Plaza. The egg is legit.

Hojicha Latte (Hot - $7) I did tried it out their matcha latte at odeon towers during 2017? but this round of time I wanted to try other tea latte flavour instead. The taste was quite strong roasted tea but then milky and creamy texture.

| 🍱 Chunky Salmon Chazuke 。... ~ · Aburi Salmon Chazuke - $19 · Aburi Norwegian salmon chunks drizzled with yuzu mayo. Topped with ikura, dried sakura ebi, hanjuku egg, menma, watermelon radish, crispies, spring onions and nori. Could be more generous with the salmon chunks which is quite tender and tasty! Go slow with the broth if you don’t wanna eat rice soup · Haru @harusingapore

Aburi Salmon $19 We had 2 bowls, the aburi Salmon and sake soy marinated beef, as well as the salmon tartar bo ssam ($6). The fish was much better than the beef!

Chawanmushi [$4] Chawanmushi done with bonito kelp and pepper reduction, topped with chicken tender, shiitake mushroom, ikura, spring onions and seaweed. Egg was pretty smooth but it wasn’t as flavourful.

Surprisingly Good Zhi Char Store A surprisingly good Zhi Char place. 1) Curry Fish Head- fish was fresh, meat was white and silky smooth. Curry was damn good. Easily 1 of the better Fish Head Curry I ever had. High recommended. 2) Fried Pork - Crispy and flavourful, one of the more popular dishes here at JB 101, came here twice already, and both times also ordered this. 3) La La beehoon - 1 of the Signature dishes here, the LaLa were fresh and the dish tasted delicious 4) Sambal Sotong - fresh and flavourful. 5) Sambal Kangkong - Not bad, flavourful and sambal was not too spicy, garlicky.

Lunch burgers Easily my favourite vegetarian burgers in Singapore! I absolutely love the food here, with so much variety of bread and fillings - this was a pesto Parmesan patty

ELSASSER Set | $26 Sourdough, lingonberries, brie, tomato, onions and double patty. This came together really well as the lingonberries were sweet and the patty was savoury. Patty wasn’t dry and tough yet extremely meaty!

Iced Latte ($6), Genmaicha Tea (~$5?), Bittersweet Chocolate Cake w Pear ($7) Eeps the cake was really small and very average. It was bittersweet (as expected from the name), but tasted more like a brownie. The pear was crunchy and raw but we expected a poached pear. Didn’t feel that the $7 price tag was justified. Iced latte was not bad though - the coffee flavour was strong. Genmaicha tea was alright. The service here is great! They’re closing at the end of Nov tho, pay them a visit before they close :) The bookshop they’re housed in is really beautiful and has nice stuff, I don’t think they’re closing but it’s a nice place to check out while waiting for a seat at the cafe! Tbh I enjoyed browsing in the bookstore more than having the food in the cafe :x

Black Sesame Roll Strong nuttiness from the black sesame that’s balanced with the cream filling 🖤🤍

This place screams aesthetic. Like a Taiwanese cafe from a fairy tale, the quaint and idyllic interior of the place is relaxing. - Coffee wise, probably could have ordered something cooler, but their hand drip coffee ($6) was really not bad at all. Very forward fruity profile, complimented by a fragrant nutty finish.

Portobello Burger ($18) with add-on smoked salmon ($3.50) but the menu for their lunch is quite limited tbh. I kinda disappointed tbh for the limited choice. But their burger is not that bad tbh and the sauce was quite nice also. So the smoked salmon was quite not that smelly and also their cheese for mushroom was quite juicy and savoury. Their side dish can be choose between picky cucumber and also coleslaw.

Matcha & Strawberry ShortCake Matcha 💚 & Strawberry 🍓 ShortCake 🎂 ($8.30) (4/5) from Dulcet & Studio I saw it at taka (tampopo) & they recently opened at i12katong. So I decided to buy cake for own celebration so I bought the cake from Orchard, gr.id to Jewel. I felt that it was quite creamy as they put a lot of fresh cream with strawberry inside the cake. I really like their fresh strawberry inside the cake and top of the cake. Matcha cream was really decent and not that strong taste tbh. I didn't expected that the cake can last long ard 7 hrs without the fridge even though its melted a bit from the surface of the cake. I do never it again but i wanted to retake photo of the cake next time with proper plate (mean I will be getting the cake nxt time if I passby the area again) 🙂

Sweet Potato Cake [$5.90] and Mont Blanc [$7] Saw these cute cakes and couldn’t resist (got these for my family). They looked not bad. The left one is a sweet potato cake and the one on the right is a Mont Blanc. Kinda regret it though, it has wayyy too much cream (it’s like 80%-90% vanilla cream) and so much dairy that I feel quite ill and definitely can’t finish these. Probably wouldn’t recommend. There’s hardly any cake. It’s mostly all cream. The mont blanc doesn’t have much of a chestnut flavour. The sweet potato cake tasted like Chinese dessert (orh nee). I really feel like the cakes tasted more like Chinese dessert rather than Japanese or French desserts. The search for a good Mont Blanc continues.

Nyonya Laksa Lemak The servings, or at least the crockery, at this vegetarian restaurant are huge! That slightly made up for the inflated prices. Nothing to complain about the laksa, yet also nothing special. It's like standard laksa, vegetarian or not.

Kampong Fried Rice Set The servings, or at least the crockery, at this vegetarian restaurant are huge! That slightly made up for the inflated prices. This nasi goreng was heavily seasoned, but not in a good way. There's little actual flavour. Plus it's dry and hard. Fortunately the mock satay, keropok and samosa were all good.
