Favourite dessert spot currently in Singapore. I literally rave about this place to all my friends. One of a kind kakigori here because we were the last to get the Sakura 😂 The owners here are sooooo friendly, and Kevin came to tell us about their kakigori, which they took months to craft and perfect. (Go down and have a chat with them, they'll be more than happy to explain everything to you! ☺️) Their kakigori is like a cross between traditional ice kachang and Korean Bingsu, although personally think it's a whole new level of shaved ice. The texture of the ice is so fluffy and perfect, and when paired with the Hokkaido Sakura cream Espuma, Houjicha sauce, shiratama, azuki and brownies, it was mindblowingly good. Nothing was over-cloying and all the flavours gelled together really well. Just take my money!
I swear, Matchaya never fails to surprise me with new flavours which just pump me up too much that I literally ran down after finding out they served this for this week's special. Personally, I felt that their Sakura flavour was a lot more sweeter as compared to their regular flavours, but it still had a very subtle Sakura taste to it. Get your hands on it before it disappears with the season! 🌸
Had serious cravings for frozen yogurt so I only got their black (charcoal) yogurt, and did not opt for their twisto, which gets you both flavours, charcoal yogurt and vanilla soft serve. Loved most of their dried fruit - an interesting mix of different fruit, and a new take on the toppings concept, since most frozen yogurt places don't have such dried fruit toppings. Beware that when you do eat this that your mouth will be stained black for a while 😂 I prefer more tangy yogurt but this is much more sweet than tangy, but still a good treat on a hot day, and more interesting than the regular llao llao, though I think I still like my llao llao more. 🌚
Salt?! You must be weirded out by this combination but I cannot emphasise how mind blowing this tasted. I'll willingly get high sodium any day for this. Together with the Hokkaido milk soft serve (get this together with the Yuzu salt, it taste like sea salt caramel ice cream) it was a seriously addictive combination. #saltbae me this cup and I'll be a happy camper.
P.s. Congrats to Matchaya to opening its second outlet soon at Dhoby!!! It means I can go down much, match, matchaya more often 😏
My favourite soft serve place in the entire of Singapore because the flavours are always so so so intense - which just shows how they do not skimp on good quality ingredients! I wanted my houjicha fix so badly that week- but they didn't have it (houjicha is my favourite flavour!) I specially did come down here to try their Black Sesame soft serve though - and I'm so pleased to say it is sooooo good (IT IS NOW TIED with Houjicha as my favourite flavour HAHA) It's just such a good punch 🤛 of potent black sesame with the perfect balance of sweetness. I dragged my siblings down that day (because I kept raving about the soft serves when I went home, that my sister really wanted to try it for herself) and they agree that Matchaya serves the best Matcha Soft Serve in Singapore ☺️ They also said that the ice cream doesn't dilute in taste even after eating the WHOLE CUP. You can taste the intensity of the flavours up to the very last bite. Black Sesame soft serve was the bottom swirl, while Matcha was the top swirl. I recommend you get separate swirls to enjoy the flavours as pronounced as possible!!!
They started at Yishun Bus Interchange, and have since expanded! I went when they still had a free upgrade promotion, (though on second thoughts I would much rather just have 5 toppings, but the eager sales lady made it hard for me to reject the 7 toppings) and got popping jelly pearls, fresh fruit, granola and coconut! The good news is that their soft serves are completely vegan and they aren't very sweet, making it a healthier treat that you can enjoy with anyone! Would be better if they had more variety of toppings though, as most of it were just sauces and the same type but different flavoured jelly balls and granola. Don't be put off by the black coloured soft serve, it's infused with charcoal and is made with black soybeans which are supposedly more nutritious for you than regular soybeans, so eat up!
Bought a 40 dollar Matchaya gift voucher for my friend's birthday because we can never get enough of this place. Seriously, this place sells the best Matcha/Houjicha soft serve in the entire of Singapore! You have to try it! After eating this, I simply can't be satisfied with any other soft serve because I will demand to have my Matchaya! And plus points for the friendly service of their chatty staff whom never fail to brighten my day with their smiles and eagerness to tell me about their work. They truly care for their business and take pride in churning out creamy yet delicate soft serves that do the flavours justice. I just want to eat all their mystery flavours all day everyday!
Just creamy, delicious that is so(ya) good for you! Loved the subtle addition of Matcha (though not prominent) into their Soya ice-cream. On a hot day, why not for just $2!
If anyone was to win prettiest Yogurt of the year award, this Sakura Yogurt Parfait might truly win. (so much prettier than my self creations at sogurt, though it might face stiffer competition with llao llao) This was served together with soufflé cheesecake, panna cotta, dango, Sakura biscuits and Sakura syrup, atop a bed of crushed whites chocolate cereal. Sadly, the flavour of the Sakura was very much overshadowed by the raspberries and strawberries present. Though each component itself was executed well, the dish didn't manage to gel together and pair with each other all that well. More style over substance perhaps?
Wobbly, fragrantly coconutty, and super slippery (in a good way) this was a delight to eat! It consisted of one layer of coconut jelly and another of coconut water agar-like jelly. Sandwiched between it was one tiny nib of coconut flesh. Wished this bowl was so, so much bigger because I loved this so much! And so guilt free! P.S. This wasn't made in house, but was sourced from SoiCoco.
Didn't expect this to be anything awesome, but it was pretty good! Matcha flavours did actually come through, although I'm not a fan of the toppings, I think this matcha shaved ice was prett on point! Really awesome in this terrible weather lately. Love how it wasn't too sweet either, with a tad bit of bitter matcha coming through the shaved ice.
Gorgeous photogenic and absolutely delicious. The sundae was so light and refreshing, paired with the floral and light edible flowers and crumble made it interesting both in terms of texture and flavour. There's also rose flavoured meringues and a really zesty lemon jelly that amped up the flavour dimension of this sundae. The rather dry and dense cake was the only turn-off for me, which was at the bottom of the sundae, topped off with lemon curd. Everything else about this sundae was just perfect!

Huge sweet-tooth, and yes - I do attempt to eat dessert for every meal.
