Hosted by the Multi-Michelin Bib Gourmand Awardee New Ubin Seafood, we enjoyed a special menu to suit the Californian wines by The Paring ๐ท
We started with this beautifully-plated top shell salad. This is part of the limited time specially curated menu for New Ubinโs wine pairing ๐ฅ
Started our meal with this refreshing mango and top shell salad with crispy fish skin ๐ฅญ๐ This dish pairs with the 2020 Chardonnay Santa Barbara Country that is limited in production (with only 6000 bottles produced) ๐ฅ
If youโre still feeling peckish, fill your tummy with this braised duck (though I wouldnโt mind if it was more tender) ๐ฆ We ended the wine menu with one of our favourite of the meal which is the 2016 Red Blend
Also limited in production, the 2017 Syrah Santa Ynez Valley is smooth and aromatic๐ทWe had this with fried chicken and spinach
An unlikely combination, our next drink - 2019 Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills is served with crispy prawns and claypot carbonara ๐ฆ
Paired this with the 2019 Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills ๐ท
For desserts, my dining companions and I were torn between the 2 available options of mango mochi and milk roll. Personally, I am a fan of the fried milk ๐ฅ๐ซถ
Have you tried this famous Melbourne cafe? With its first international location in Singapore, Puzzle Coffee is best known for its edible biscuit cups ๐ซถ
We hadโฆ
๐ต Matcha Latte
๐ Purple Sweet Potato Latte
๐ Pear Crumble
๐ฅ Kaya Croissant
The socially responsible artisan coffee house commits to using only sustainable packaging which is why you will NEVER see plastics here ๐
For every 100 cups of coffee or bag of beans sold, they will donate a tree ๐ BYO reusable cup and enjoy further discounts on your coffee โ๏ธ
While I had better matcha elsewhere, they are after all famous for the Melbourne coffee beans roasted in-house ๐ซ Coffee lovers, feel free to share what you think about their coffee!
Overall, a spot suitable for quick catch up in town โจ
Between the 2 pastries that we tried, both my dining companion and I preferred the pear crumble ($5)
Tried the kaya croissant ($5) ๐ฅ Wished this was flakier and had more kaya fillings
Started as a COVID baby, Suguru Home Dining has since amassed a loyal fan base with its delivery of premium quality Japanese food right to your doorstep ๐ซถ Specialising in chilled truffle somen with gourmet seafood toppings, they serve a variety of sashimi don, soba, oyster and marinated seafood.
Made with fresh ingredients air-flown directly from Japan ๐ฏ๐ต
We tried the 2 variations of the Chilled Truffle Somen with Raw Hokkaido Scallops and
โช๏ธSalmon Ikura ($32)
โช๏ธHokkaido Seasonal Uni ($75)
Enjoyed the rich creamy uni and juicy scallop with fish roe. Typically, I have reservations about home-based establishments which serve raw food especially because it requires sensitive handling. But I was impressed by the careful thought placed into ensuring the quality of its food ๐
They have also recently expanded into a 6-seater dining space that serves omakase.
