Officially open yesterday, this popular unagi fast food chain serves unagi mains with prices starting from $9.50 only (and even lower for other items) ๐ธ
With over 100+ outlets in Japan and Southeast Asia, this is the first outlet in Singapore. Hereโs what we tried!
๐ Hitsumabushi
A popular dish originating from Nagoya, enjoy this in the different ways: as an unadon, with condiments or with tea/dashi (ochazuke-style). This comes with unagi liver soup ๐ต๐ถ

To celebrate their opening, enjoy a โจFREEโจ onsen egg when dining in from 25 Jan till 28 Feb 2023.
In addition, score 1-for-1 unadon double on 27 Jan (tmr) only! Eligible for first 100 dine-in customers โผ๏ธ๐ข
Grilled over charcoal fire using binchotan charcoal, the unagi is fluffy and aromatic. We liked that short-grained Japanese rice is used and itโs plump and pearly ๐
Upgrade to a set that comes with your choice of soup/udon/soba and sides for $4. I tried the soba version which comes with crunchy tempura bits. Also stole a mouth of my friendโs udon which is chewier!
You can also choose to have these either hot ๐ฅ or cold ๐ฅถ

๐ Unagi Double ($14.50)
We tried the signature item. The unagi is first steamed, then grilled to attain the crispy texture on the outside but still remaining fluffy on the inside! ๐ซถ
๐ Unagi Tempura Don ($15)
Donโt miss out on the unagi tempura either! Complete with a flowy lava core egg, the unagi tempura retains its tender freshness and is served alongside a variety of battered seafood, meat and vegetables ๐ค
For sides, consider that umaki ($3 half size) or the firm chilled tofu.
For sides, we had the uzaku (grilled eel and cucumber in light broth with sweetened vinegar) which is a summer specialty in the Kansai region. Rich and refreshing at the same time!
If youโre a fan of unagi liver, donโt miss out on that here! Personally, not a fan of the gameyness and hence this didnโt appeal to me, though it was well-liked by my dining companion!

Donโt sleep on the sukiyaki set. Ours came with A5 Miyazaki Wagyu beef and seafood platter. Each slice of the wagyu beef melted away instantly ๐ฅบ and the natural sweetness from the fresh firm prawn shone through ๐ If you arenโt a fan of beef/seafood, you can also choose to substitute with iberico pork. The generous portions for the sukiyaki set can easily feed 3 eaters.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would recommend the sukiyaki and black codfish!

The highlight of our meal, we opted for the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu beef and seafood platter. With a melange of mushrooms, vegetables, onions and beancurd, the sukiyaki broth is made with specially blended kelp (kombu) and dried bonito shaving soup and simmered in high heat ๐ฒ
The premium sashimi platter came with thick cuts of fresh kinmedai (snapper), shima-aji (striped jack), kanpachi (amber jack), toro (fatty tuna), hon maguro (bluefin tuna) ๐
Donโt miss out on the black codfish with miso! We enjoyed the thick cut that melts away in your mouth, couldnโt help reaching for more of this ๐ซถ

Had an enjoyable time at Kyojo Dining. Tried their sashimi, sukiyaki and donburi โจ
For desserts, choose from yuzu, matcha and black sesame flavours (included in the sukiyaki set)๐ต Had mixed opinions on our favourites, but mine is the black sesame ice cream! Nonetheless, the red bean matcha ice cream and yuzu sorbet received some compliments too
