Lunch at Claudine Restaurant, a concept by Chef Julien. Not quite our usual afternoon tea affair though we were excited to check it out.
For mains, we had the Pumpkin Ravioli ($48) topped with black winter truffles (add-on $38) since itâs in season. Al dente pasta combined with butternut squash, black trumpet mushrooms and pistachio vinaigrette garnished with aged parmesan, itâs a common dish done uncommonly well.
For those who prefer something spicy, Kkanpunggi aka Spicy Garlic Fried Chicken (from $32/small) can set your tongue on fire. Deliciously fried chicken, it is enrobed in a red spicy sauce filled with peppers and garlic.
One of the places to visit when Iâm craving for Jjajangmyeon & Tangsuyuk.
If you donât know, Tangsuyuk is the Korean version of sweet and sour pork. But unlike other places, their Tangsuyuk (from $24/small) is made of deep-fried pork stripes, lightly battered before being coated in a well-balanced sweet & sour sauce. Cut into bite-size, it is pretty addictive to munch on though itâs recommended to eat them hot as it hardens when itâs cool.
Back at One-Ninety for Chef Audreyâs Single Origin Dark Chocolate SoufflĂ© with Darjeeling Ice Cream.
Dark and intense yet has a light and custardy texture, the chocolate soufflé is a showstopper of a dessert. Darjeeling ice cream paired with the chocolaty dessert is brilliant, as it intertwines flavour and texture.

Braised Pork Rice, Oyster Mee Sua & Salty Chicken Rice.
This retro-chic small eatery, located just beside Wang Dae Buk BBQ, is run by a Taiwanese family has a small menu with three dishes.
Braised Pork Rice Bento comes in two options, and they recommend to get the Bento ($10.90) which has an addition of Chinese sausage, braised beancurd and a whole braised egg. Plump white rice with saucy well-balanced braised pork, it is a comforting food option on a rainy day
Stepping into the âvending machinesâ, youâll find a traditional Taiwanese stone hotpot restaurant.
The base of the broth is made of stir-fried dried cuttlefish and meat before they add in the pork bone broth and medley of vegetables you have chosen like Pig Skin, Cheese Tofu, Fish Roe Pockets, and TW Egg Dumplings.
The unique broth is pleasantly sweet and enlivened with shacha sauce, comes in Single Pot ($9.90), Medium Pot ($18.90) and Large Pot ($21.90).
Remember to order their Lu Rou Fan ($2.50) along with a bucket of refreshing Taiwan beer!
ëë° DAEBAK! SBCD Tofu House has an express outlet serving these comforting Soondubu Jjigae aka Korean Spicy Tofu Stew in a hawker centre.
Seafood Soon Tofu ($8) and Pork Soon Tofu ($7) are two popular choices. Made with silky smooth tofu (beans from Paju, South Korea) in the 10-ingredient secret soup, each bowl is served with rice, kimchi and a pack of seaweed. Portion is smaller and less tasty than SBCD, but at such wallet-friendly price whose complaining?
Taking over the space previously occupied by Habitat, it was transformed into a chic airy cafe.
Ordered Big Breakfast which comes with your choice of eggs, beef hamburg, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, baked beans, mashed potatoes, Dorayaki and Hokkaido Milk toast. Interesting pairing of red bean dorayaki so itâs like a Jap-Western fusion breakfast plate, but not something Iâll order again.

Ordered Big Breakfast ($28) and Truffle Fries but their highlight was the Cheese Toasties ($21). 3 slices of crispy toasted sourdough filled with three type of cheese (Parmigiano Reggiano, Swiss cheddar and goat cheese), comes with poached egg and tomato jam. It is a sinful option to have for breakfast and best for sharing.

Artisan bakes and French dining. HENRI, a new dining restaurant with bakery by Bread & Hearth has opened at Far East Square.
Select from a wide range of viennoiseries and bakes such as signature Croissant, Almond Chocolat, Butterhorn, Cheese Danish and Foccacia. These artisan breads are made with French lactic butter and wheat imported from a French miller to authenticate taste and texture.
So grab a Almond Croissant or Apple Turnover ($4.50 each) with a cup of coffee and have them in the terrace just like in Paris.
