Gelato inspired by the botanical flavours of nature, no introduction needed for Birds of Paradise. Avid fans of their gelato will be glad to know that they have the third outlet near Tanjong Pagar MRT.

Delicate floral White Chrysanthemum with cocoa nibs combined with the earthy Sea Salt Houjicha ($8/double scoop), have it in a cup or on the fragrant handcrafted thyme cone.

Back at One-Ninety for Chef Audrey’s Single Origin Dark Chocolate Soufflé with Darjeeling Ice Cream.

Dark and intense yet has a light and custardy texture, the chocolate soufflé is a showstopper of a dessert. Darjeeling ice cream paired with the chocolaty dessert is brilliant, as it intertwines flavour and texture.

In shades of yellow and brown with a touch of blue. The new cheesecake boutique cafe QUIEC by Olivia is decked out like a burnt cheesecake and smells like one too!

Variety of cheese-based bakes to choose from such as Olivia Burnt Cheesecake (from $15/4”), Gâteau Basque ($10/slice) and American Cheesecake Macaron ($12)

Signature Olivia Burnt Cheesecake comes in round tart sizes: 4” ($15), 6” ($48) and 9” ($78) instead of the usual slices. A sweet-savoury treat that contains a molten core made of blue cheese and cream cheese, this is a must-try.

Sourdough bombolonis with whimsical fillings that oozes out when you take a bite! You can now take away one of these addictive doughnuts @sourbombebakery flagship store.

Other than the popular line-up like the classic Cinnabombe and insanely good Basque Burnt Cheesecake, they will be introducing three unique flavours every month. For July, there’s:
* Basil Cream & Rhubarb. Herbaceous custard of basil, lemon balm & lime paired with tangy rhubarb compote
* Burnt Honey & Sage Walnuts. Luscious rich custard of caramelised honey with brown butter sage & crispy walnut
* Black Sesame Peanut Butter (must-try). A harmonious combination of nutty-earthy black sesame & peanut creme

If you like to try the specials, they have the Seasonal Box of Three ($15.50). Else go for the Signature Box of Nine ($44) and try ALL NINE!

@kingoffriedricesg is expanding very quickly with two new outlets this week - one at Tampines and another one at Serangoon!

The fragrant egg fried rice comes in 4 options - Normal, XO sauce, Tom Yum and Mala. Have it plain or with shrimp though I’ll strongly recommend to go for the pork cutlet version which is huge and flavoursome. And that’s what we gotten, their signature Pork Cutlet X.O Fried Rice with Tobiko ($8.90)

再来一个菠蘿包! One of the hottest commodities in town is probably these Bolo Bun aka Pineapple Bun from @championflagship.

With an aesthetically pleasing interior, the cafe only offer these soft sweet bread with golden-brown cookie crust in three options - Classic ($4.50), Classic with Butter ($5) and Curry Potato ($6)

Made fresh upon orders, these buns are best consumed within 20 mins especially savoury Curry Potato. Add on the fragrant HK milk tea or coffee to complete your tea break.

P.S: to curb the huge demand (appx 1hr wait in all) they normally restrict to two buns per pax.

It's always hard to pick just one cake here, but if you really must, then go for this.
Moist layers of cake mildly perfumed with rose are blanketed with just the right amount of raspberry frosting. I've always liked how well-balanced this beaut is, especially with the chopped pistachios in the middle.
If you like passion fruit, the Orange Passion Loaf ($6) is a guaranteed hit.

Went past the Owl Café at National Gallery and thought this looked rather interesting — felt very much like a hybrid of Kueh Salat and Pulut Hitam which I both like. In fact, that was actually how it kinda tasted, and the texture and overall quality was actually still rather acceptable given that they were served out of the display cabinet. Expect the same Kaya Custard from a Pulut Hitam, while the glutinous rice layer carries bits of black glutinous rice that injects a light, familiar aroma of Pulut Hitam into the Kueh.

Located within The Garage at 50 Cluny Park Road accessible from Singapore Botanic Gardens are Bee's Knees and Botanico; the former an all-day dining cafe while the latter is a fine-dining restaurant opened only for dinner at the time of writing.

Currently on soft-launch phase, only pastries and tarts are available with the beverages (though there is only espresso and long black off their coffee menu) for now though they have plans to serve more substantial items such as pasta soon. The Honey Lemon Rosemary Tart is pretty much like your Lemon Meringue Tart but with interesting flavours of Rosemary running within the tart base. Lemon curd is hidden within the fluffy, airy torched meringue; though a tad solid, carries a manageable zing that is pretty subtle while the leaves come with herbed flavours yet dusted with sugar crystals for a crisp yet light sweetness. Pretty floral and definitely fits into the surrounding vibes well being in Singapore Botanic Gardens, while the place is also decked in a Wildseed Cafe-esque interior that is slightly more tropical and raw with loads of lush green and pebble elements alongside the a cemented wall that are used in the decor.

(PS: the nearest gate to The Garage at Singapore Botanic Gardens would be the Melati Gate, but I would let you guys figure out the way to the gate anyway because I am kinda selfish and it looks like a great spot to chill at after class ... 😂)

Absolutely amazing. I'm not usually a sweet tooth, but I'm impressed. The soft served freeze and the maple flavors combine to refresh you instantly. Not to mention the rose jelly the serves as a comforting end to each mouthful of ice cream. A must try.

Missing this umami-tastic bowl of special shoyu ramen at Ramen Yashichi. Loved the barbecued pork and green onions added on top of that creamy broth. I enjoyed every shade of flavor that is so distinct yet went so well with each other. So good that I feel they're doing no-look passes to each other. #burpple #tabelogtoprameninosaka #moreinlifethanichiran
