Salted Egg Pork Ribs with Rice ($6) Don't know if I was plain hungry but it was a really satisfying meal! Portion of meat was more to the smaller side, which was a tad disappointing. But the salted egg sauce was really good and the pork ribs are tender! Rice went really well with the sauce but it was a tad spicy with the chilli padi seeds littered in the pool of salted egg. Recommended still!

Finally got the time to make it down to MOF's newest dining concept store on the 3rd level of 313 - Kaisen-Tei, specializing in Kaisendons & surprisingly, Katsu Curries! Opted for the large DIY Kaisendon ($16+) which comes with a choice of 4 fishes, aburi/raw, sushi rice/salad & their 4 different sauces! Got 2x servings of Mekajiki & Salmon bathed in Kaisen sauce & added 2 premium toppings: NEGITORO & IKURA @ $3.80+ each 😍 I'd say that the portion was surprisingly filling for my tummy despite it looking like quite a small bowl of fish cubes! Everything was great, from the generous serving of bright orange ikura, to the scoop of Negitoro mixed with spring onions & Kaisen sauce & to the Tamagoyaki & not forgetting the stars of the meal: the salmon & the MEKAJIKI doused in Kaisen sauce! The baby Hotate which my friend ordered was more of a miss though, definitely opt for the fishes instead of the scallops & octopus etc! The only complaint I have was that there was an overload of pickles mixed in the kaisendon. I personally love Japanese pickles but there were simply just way too many plus it was pretty salty so I ended up picking them out. My meal came to a total of $25.25 after 7% GST, not the cheapest but I did opt for extra toppings πŸ˜…. Ambience was alright, open concept in the middle of the mall. Wouldn't say its the best Kaisendons but it's definitely one of the better ones out there! Do check em out for a quick meal in 313!

Visited this newly opened waffles & ice cream cafe after seeing the March Newly Opened #BurppleGuide! Situated @ WIS@Changi, it definitely is a cafe easily overlooked. Ordered the Sugee Waffle ($3.50) along with 2 premium scoops of ice cream - Salted Caramel & Toasted Marshmallow (1 for $3.90, 2 for $7.90 & 3 for $10)! The Salted Caramel was really salty and I didn't expect it to sit down on my palate when I first tried it but it turned out surprisingly well on the waffle & its strong caramel taste is definitely a winner. The Toasted Marshmallow on the other hand was less overpowering, but really good in it's own way too! Both the flavors complemented the freshly prepared Sugee Waffle very well and the flavors intertwined with each other to produce a really great plate of waffles & ice cream! You can also opt for a rainbow bread/cone for free if you're not up for some waffles, which also comes in the ladyboss' own rendition of Pandan Waffles. I'd recommend getting 3 scoops tho as the ice cream balls were a little small. The service rendered was amazing & the ladyboss was really warm & friendly! Do support them if you're in the east! Do note that while the shop is air-conditioned, only outdoor seating is available.

This humble stall situated at Lengkong Tiga's neighborhood coffeeshop is my favourite 'go-to' breakfast stall for Carrot Cake! The Black Fried Carrot Cake is cooked a-la-minute only when ordered! It's sweet, generous on the eggs and topped off with spring onions! It isn't the most healthy dish though but let loose once in awhile & indulge in guilty pleasures! Do give them a try if you're in the East! It's my favourite carrot cake in sg & I'm sure all you foodies out there would love it as much as I do! It comes in 2 portions, $3/$4 & you can opt for the white one too though I prefer the black rendition of carrot cake. Head over early to avoid disappointment though, the carrot cake usually sells out by 11am and the stall closes by noon! Only the early birds can catch the worm!

Considering SengKee's proximity to Kembangan MRT & my house, it's definitely a place I visit often to appease my late night hunger pangs (it's open till 3/4am). Had the Har Cheong Kai ($12) for 7 pieces. I'd say it was pretty good, deeply battered to a nice rusty brown, better than average but not the best I've had, plus I found it a little expensive too. Had their signature Herbal Mee Sua ($5) with a mix of ingredients, the herbal taste was pretty strong but tbh I don't understand the craze over it, maybe because I'm not a big fan of herbal soup. & lastly the Salted Fish Fried Rice ($6) which was REALLY salty & hard to palate. Ended up scraping off the salted fish crisps off the top and ate the fried rice as it is. I feel that Seng Kee's actually a little overrated haha I've had much better zichar fare with price tags that are much easier on the pocket! It's good location is definitely a plus point though, it's only a 3 minute walk from the MRT!

For a limited time only, WINGSTOP is having a special promotion for 20 wings, only at $16.90 ON TUESDAYS! It's really a good deal considering how wingstop price their wings usually. You get to choose up to 4 flavours for your 20 wings! I got the wings in Louisiana Rub, Oriental Soy & Parmesan Cheese. Parmesan Cheese always sounds great but the wings were not so great. I highly recommend the Lousiana rub, like just get all 20 of that! Ok just kidding but it's really good! How the dry flavours blend together to create a medley of spices in your mouth. The JalapeΓ±o Cheese fries @ ($4.95) were awesome too! 😍 Definitely head down to Wingstop on a Tuesday to grab 20 wings @ such a great price! Takeaways are allowed too! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Nangfa Kitchen...where am I even supposed to start? This humble & authentic chain Thai eatery tucked away in the heartlands really amazes me every single time! Really affordable for the quality of food you get! It's way better than commercialized (& overpriced) Thai restaurants. The Green Curry Chicken ($8) is a MUST order, the delicious coconut milky gravy was of the beet proportions, not too milky, not too spicy. Pandan Leaves Chicken ($4) was also aromatic, marinated Thai Style Curried chicken wrapped in pandan leaves! Another must order is the Tom Yum Soup, thick base, which was really spicy &nreally hit the spot for its tanginess! Other must orders for me everytime Im at Nahkon would be the Deep Fried Frish in Thai Chili, Fragrant Olive Rice & Stuffed Chicken wings! Sambal Kangkong was a miss though, $6 for a really stingy portion of veggie. Definitely way more hits than misses, head over to Nahkon to satisfy your Thai food craving without burning a hole in your pocket!
Do note that all prices are nett here and that there's no air conditioning πŸ˜… Total bill for 5 stuffed tummies came up to only $58!

& tbh I don't really taste a difference between Nahkon & Nangfa...it pretty much tastes the same to me & considering that there were rumours going around that they actually were once business associates who eventually split up, the quality of food is great and comparable at both places. So I'd usually go for the one with a shorter queue. πŸ˜…

Ordered a few zi char items from my friend's zi char stall for a celebration at home. Prawn paste chicken was honestly AMAZING. Battered & fried to perfection of a bronze brown, and marinated long enough to taste the goodness of the prawn paste & it was really just awesome. No complaints! Yam ring & salted egg chicken were not bad too. Do give them a try & ESPECIALLY THE HAR CHEONG KAI if you're around the area!

Finally visited for their much raved about TENDON! Didn't have a wait for a seat at all because I'm kiasu and came right when they opened in the evening. (You should too because by the time I finished the meal, the queue literally snaked to the back of the shop). Say at the counter seats & I hd a first hand experience & got to see the skilled chefs frying the battered tempura to a golden brown & meticulously placing the tempura on the bowl of delicious short grained sushi rice & finally drizzling their signature sauce all over the Tendon. It came with long beans, 2 tempura fish, 2 tempura prawns, mushroom, sweet potato, baby corn & not forgetting a TEMPURA EGG HIDDEN UNDERNEATH THE GOODNESS! Really satisfying and fulfilling meal, priced at $13.90 too, slightly cheaper than TENSHO's. Everything was close to perfect, from the Chawanmushi, to the miso soup, to the star Tendon itself. Do prepare to wait if you're heading here during peak hours! Can't wait for my next TENDON meal, seriously! Next stop, Tendon Kohaku!

Got the Mixed Tendon ($14.90++) which came in a set, with a little serving of Chawanmushi & free-flow Japanese pickles. The Chawanmushi was surprisingly good - really silky & flavourful but it was a REALLY small serving. Japanese pickles were, well just pickles. On to the star of the show - the Tendon which was fried on the spot right in front of my eyes. It came warm, fresh & crispy. The tempura was really battered to a perfect yellow & everything was perfect. What was even more perfect was the tempura egg sitting atop a mound of rice & underneath the battered goodness. And what was the BEST in my opinion was the tempura mushroom. Like WOW they were honestly out of this world it had so much of a truffle-y taste and it was honestly sensational. Everything just went to well together & it's even greater that you have a whole bottle of tendon sauce right on your table (which I almost finished πŸ˜…). Do visit TENSHO if you're around the area! Can't wait to go back again soon! A 10/10 meal. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Got the original & chocolate crepe cakes @ $9++ each along with a cafe mocha & iced chocolate @ $6.50++ & $7++ respectively. Pretty packed on a Sunday afternoon, had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat. The original crepe cake was really light while the chocolate rendition was a tad too rich for my liking but will definitely appeal to chocolate lovers! Definitely not worth the money though it's really pretty overpriced. A done & dusted kind of dessert place I'd say. Used an app to get free drinks but staff was terribly unprofessional & rude about it. They insisted that my app was not registering on their side & a female filipino staff appeared VERY impatient & frustrated. Unprofessional service, won't go back again.

This has got to be one of the most comforting meals in the whole of Singapore! The famous Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice. The craze is really understandable - a purposeful mess of curry upon a large plate of mixed food of your choice. I got their famous chicken cutlet, eggs, sambal mini mussels & a definite MUST ORDER is the cabbage. The food just blended and went so well with each other and basically any food item on display will go well with that thick and generous serving of curry. This came up to $4.90 nett for such a satisfying plate of goodness. Albeit the non-existent ambience + heat & the rude service rendered by the cashier auntie, I'll definitely head back again for more! A must try comfort food! Best thing is that they open till 3.30am for night owls!
