Finally got the time to make it down to MOF's newest dining concept store on the 3rd level of 313 - Kaisen-Tei, specializing in Kaisendons & surprisingly, Katsu Curries! Opted for the large DIY Kaisendon ($16+) which comes with a choice of 4 fishes, aburi/raw, sushi rice/salad & their 4 different sauces! Got 2x servings of Mekajiki & Salmon bathed in Kaisen sauce & added 2 premium toppings: NEGITORO & IKURA @ $3.80+ each 😍 I'd say that the portion was surprisingly filling for my tummy despite it looking like quite a small bowl of fish cubes! Everything was great, from the generous serving of bright orange ikura, to the scoop of Negitoro mixed with spring onions & Kaisen sauce & to the Tamagoyaki & not forgetting the stars of the meal: the salmon & the MEKAJIKI doused in Kaisen sauce! The baby Hotate which my friend ordered was more of a miss though, definitely opt for the fishes instead of the scallops & octopus etc! The only complaint I have was that there was an overload of pickles mixed in the kaisendon. I personally love Japanese pickles but there were simply just way too many plus it was pretty salty so I ended up picking them out. My meal came to a total of $25.25 after 7% GST, not the cheapest but I did opt for extra toppings 😅. Ambience was alright, open concept in the middle of the mall. Wouldn't say its the best Kaisendons but it's definitely one of the better ones out there! Do check em out for a quick meal in 313!
