This was a real winner for me! This was more Thai than Peranakan - with turmeric, galangal and Kaffir lime leaf. I remember having a similar curry at Nahm in Bangkok. This was just as delicious and I am happy to be able to enjoy it here in Singapore!

A must-order if you like curry 😍😍!

Chose the sashimi of Tasmanian salmon with ginger, eschallot and goat's feta for my entrΓ©e. Subtle, interesting flavours shone through (very different from the typical salmon sashimi with soy sauce and wasabi), pairing smoothly with the fresh, thick sashimi slices.

😍 This beautifully plated salad is too pretty to eat. The new summer menu that Chef Steve Allen introduced at Pollen is really quite a treat. This refreshing plated salad include 14 ingredients 😱 like carrots done 3 ways, artichokes, black olive crumbs, mushrooms etc.

#lifehack1: After your meal at Pollen, be sure to walk around the Flower Dome as your meal comes with free entry to the otherwise ticketed attraction

#lifehack2: Buggy service!!! To save you from walking in the heat, when you reach the taxi drop off point at Gardens by the Bay, call reservations at 6608 9988 to send a free shuttle to get you :)

This family-run restaurant in Forum the Shopping Mall serves a variety of set meals that are great for hosting business associates. Using only quality ingredients like Alaskan crab, Soon Hock fish and South African abalones, the meal is bound to impress your dining partners. The Lobster and Dim Sum Set ($38) is very value for money, featuring three kinds of dim sum, a delightful double boiled soup, roasted duck and soya chicken, stewed lobster noodles and a dessert. Aside from set meals, the Beef Brisket Noodle ($12.80) is also worth ordering for its tender to bite beef chunks, and get the Steamed Malay Cake ($4) for a sweet fix. For drinks, the restaurant prides itself on wine pairing, evident with their racks of wine around the restaurant. Just ask the friendly in-house sommelier for recommendations. Pro tip: Feel free to BYO. There’s no corkage fee here!

What's pictured is the dessert of my set lunch, but I've posted my other courses here earlier in May 2017. You can scroll all the way down on my IG feed to find my post buried down below, but it's easier to go to my @Burpple page, filed under a category I named as "Multi Course Lunch Set Deals".

Enjoy your meal without breaking the bank. Then decide if you want to go for the full tasting experience during dinner.

A trending hotspot among the Burpple community, OMU is a must-visit for all omu rice lovers. Prices begin at an affordable $9.80 for a basic Omurice, with five sauce types to choose from, and the option for toppings like Pork Shabu Shabu, Cream Croquettes and Deep-fried Shrimps. If it's your first visit, you must request for eggs to be made lava-style (additional $2), regardless of what Omurice you choose (except for Doria-style). In this option, the eggs are cooked till set on the surface, but half-cooked and creamy within. Burppler Rueann Dass shares that the eggs here are generally underseasoned, and to choose your sauce wisely for flavour. She highly recommends the Hayashi, a hearty, beefy Japanese-Western brown sauce. We also enjoyed the more balanced Tomato and umami Demi Glace. If you plan on Instagramming this, take Burppler Siming T's advice to ask that toppings be served on a separate side plate, so the lava-style egg can flow beautifully over the rice and sauce.

Pro tip: This place is still buzzing, so visit during off-peak meal hours or be prepared to queue!

1 for 1 Wednesday and Thursday promotion on all dons! The seafood was quite fresh, portion was just nice for me but not full for the man though. PS: The ginger was very refreshing to have too!

The bowl of rice was surprisingly small. Beef was ok, pepper sauce underneath was good. what was interesting was the ginger foam which gave this don an interesting flavour

From Tsukiji Fish Market Restaurant at Orchard Central; it replaces Sumiya at the Sky Garden right opposite Joie by Dozo. It is apparently a Japanese restaurant concept that is a collective of several brands under one roof, namely Tsukiji Fish Market Restaurant itself, Ueki Omakase Restaurant, Takuman, Tori Sho Chicken, Ebi Zo Ebi Tempura Restaurant and Ikezaki Japanese BBQ (coming soon). Do note that not all of the restaurants are open during lunch hour, though we noticed Takuman, Tsukiji Fish Market Restaurant and Ebi Zo Ebi Tempura Restaurant being opened during our visit for lunch.

The Ebizo Signature Tempura Rice Bowl came pretty huge and looking quite promising β€” came with Tempura squid, long beans, sweet ebi, sea eel, mushroom and even a choice between Tempura Egg or Onsen Egg (which I chose the former). The set also came with Miso Soup, salad and pickles. Pretty impressed with the fried items here that is served atop the saucy rice (though some might think it's a bit excessive considered the puddle of sauce beneath the rice); all of the fried items came Crispy without ever being soggy, surprisingly not too greasy and quite fresh especially for the mushroom which was really earthy and flavourful and the sea eel that was huge, tender (not really bony) and a little savoury with unagi sauce brushed atop beneath the batter. The tempura egg was also extremely satisfying; flowy yolk that oozes as one pokes through the egg and the crisp Tempura batter outside. A pretty good bowl that's affordable and without the queue that one should try, before the queue starts to form.

Located right by the entrance of Dempsey Hill, this gourmet butchery cum bistro is the perfect brunch location for the whole family. On a weekend, expect to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Thankfully, you can seek respite while browsing gourmet items in the air-conditioned butchery next door while the kids run amok at the playground. Surrounded by lush greenery, your brunch experience will be laid back and well worth the wait. Order the Huber's Beef Burger with Bacon and Gruyere ($15.50) β€” made with 170g of Australian ground beef (served medium well, but you can let the staff know if you prefer otherwise). With a lethal combo of two nicely charred buns that are pillowy soft but never soggy, melted gruyere cheese, crispy strips of bacon, this is one satisfying burger that will keep you coming back time and time again. Also order the Spicy Italian Sausage ($13.80) to share, it's probably the best hot dog around.
