From Tsukiji Fish Market Restaurant at Orchard Central; it replaces Sumiya at the Sky Garden right opposite Joie by Dozo. It is apparently a Japanese restaurant concept that is a collective of several brands under one roof, namely Tsukiji Fish Market Restaurant itself, Ueki Omakase Restaurant, Takuman, Tori Sho Chicken, Ebi Zo Ebi Tempura Restaurant and Ikezaki Japanese BBQ (coming soon). Do note that not all of the restaurants are open during lunch hour, though we noticed Takuman, Tsukiji Fish Market Restaurant and Ebi Zo Ebi Tempura Restaurant being opened during our visit for lunch.
The Ebizo Signature Tempura Rice Bowl came pretty huge and looking quite promising — came with Tempura squid, long beans, sweet ebi, sea eel, mushroom and even a choice between Tempura Egg or Onsen Egg (which I chose the former). The set also came with Miso Soup, salad and pickles. Pretty impressed with the fried items here that is served atop the saucy rice (though some might think it's a bit excessive considered the puddle of sauce beneath the rice); all of the fried items came Crispy without ever being soggy, surprisingly not too greasy and quite fresh especially for the mushroom which was really earthy and flavourful and the sea eel that was huge, tender (not really bony) and a little savoury with unagi sauce brushed atop beneath the batter. The tempura egg was also extremely satisfying; flowy yolk that oozes as one pokes through the egg and the crisp Tempura batter outside. A pretty good bowl that's affordable and without the queue that one should try, before the queue starts to form.
